Nothing sold to be a collectable has ever actaully become a
collectable. The stuff that goes up in value is usually the stuff that
has intrinsic value (diamonds, gold, '59 Les Paul guitars) or the
stuff most sensible people threw away. Those picture discs were such a
scam I still can't believe they got away with it.
I still remember buying that for around $15 when it was released.

That was my original Pepper was that release...
I also bought the red vinyl '62-'66 and the White album on white...
Actually they're worth something in the $30-$40 range today in mint
condition. There's a ton of them on eBay. Highest bid on a US disc is
$30 at the moment. Lowest auction with a bid is 99 cents.
Cause people bought them. I had at least one.
Jeff
I had one. It sounded about the same as a cardboard flexi-disk
( Shit.)

White album white is rare...red red is less so..still not bad to have
though..rarest is the green abbey road and the yellow MMT..there was
also a white Let it be. AR and MMT were in fact export UK copies so
they are mega scarce.
The pic disc Sgt Pep..dunno I have a UK one..it's a nice object to
have.
Danny
I can't even remember what my disc sounded like. I
played it a few times, lost it for about 2 years,
and then sold it. If it was worth anything.....
I sold it too soon.
Jeff
What is a picture disc?.
You take a picture of yourself and put it on a vinyl LP,
and watch it spin around thousands of times. I
Used to do it to make sure I still existed.
Jeff
I've also seen a yellow Band on the Run and blue Wings Greatest.
I gave 50 bucks for mine, but that was several years ago.

Haven't heard of those...they must be foreign (ie not UK)..sound a bit
odd. The White white album was also an export and is rare..these
things go for hundreds of pounds in record fairs and so on..really
sought after..well by the likes of me anyway...I remember seeing the
green AR at the time it came out and not buying it..kicking myself now
(god knows why..I mean who cares!!)..there was also a pic AR disc I
seem to remember..I didn't buy that one. Lat time I saw a disc like
this was in 1997 in a record fair in Tonbridge in Kent and it was the
yellow MMT..it was 40 quid..I didn't buy it...suppose I should have
done...sigh.
Danny
But, no sound then?.
