The natural trumpet sparked my interest a few years ago, and I've since wanted
to get involved in more early music, particularly on period instruments.
Through scowering the internet, I've found a few schools in europe that offer
degrees in early music, specifically with performance on the natural trumpet.
Granted I wouldn't mind going to europe to study one bit, but I'd still like to
see if anyone knows of any schools in the US that offer a degree program for
this. I know there is a pretty good sized handful of people who are very
proficient at the instrument, and I'm sure I could learn from them, but in
addition to learning how to play the instrument, I want to learn about period
performance. A tall order, and possibly something to pursue for a masters or
doctoral degree, but I'd like to get a jump start on it all. Thanks in advance
for any information you might have.

Matthew, It's just my opinion but I think that specialized a degree would be
best pursued at the graduate/doctoral level. Until that time I think you could
learn what you need to know from others who share your interest and perform on
those instruments in the professional world. You might have to travel some
though. Good luck with it. Bill S.
