This guy has some chops but...egads.... Anyone know who this is? I know who
it *isn't* - they're way too solid and in-tune.

That sounds like Scott Englebright. Go at http://www.tasteebros.com/. These
two guys are crazy.

That's just little bit demented, I've worked my entire adult life to
have a range like that and this guy uses it as a JOKE...
Also, when I clicked on the link it started a 6mb download. No prob
for those of us with broadband but the dialup folks might appreciate a
little warning that it's that big a file.

It's a joke, but an impressive one. Someone with incredible high chops
horsing around with a Mahler recording.

Okay. It's a big file folks...
;-)
I'm on dialup myself.
Cute clip, but boy is it obvious he doesn't play much (if any) classical
stuff. 25 years ago I would have killed to play like that! (Now Clifford
is more an ideal than Chase).

The difference between immorality and immortality is "T". I like Earl
Grey.

What are you saying, the Maynard shake doesn't fit right in?
;-)
I think the whole idea was the style being so out of character.

Actually, Maynard probably would have been even broader than that.
:o

Agreed. But that style, while lots of fun, just isn't as fun any more, at
least for me. The lead player in one of the bands I play in does that kind
of thing, and makes it fit (well, except for the last couple of notes -
I've never heard Steve go above a BBb), but when I play I try to pay a
*LITTLE* more attention to the notes, and less to the altitude. Not that
I'll ever be even half as good as, say Guido Basso, but his style grabs me
a lot more than it used to.
