I haven't seen or heard Chicago for years, but in the old days, when the band
was hot and inventive, I am almost certain that he played a nice silver Benge
(probably a Burbank) or an old French Besson (they look almost the same).

He may have changed over the years, but that was what he played all that great
old stuff on.

Guys,

There is an excellent interview with Lee Loughnane in the February, 1998
ITG Journal, where Mr. Loughnane mentions that he is playing a Claude
Gordon trumpet with a "CG Personal" mouthpiece, and has been for about
seven years. He also talks about smoking and a heart attack he had. An
informative read and yet another reason to be a member of the ITG.

I remember back in the late 70s in Downbeat Magazine that Lee was endorsing
Getzen. Just a thought...

According to recent ITG Journal article, Lee Loughnane plays a Claude Gordon
trumpet and mouthpiece. That's the CG brand not to be confused with the CG
Benge or CG Selmer horns.

FYI

I'd like some info on this instrument.. Did CG create this horn? I've owned
both the Benge and Selmer variants... He must have done this in the very latter
part of his life if it is not one of these horns.
