I'd like to know which horns the great jazz trumpet players (e.g.
Clifford, Miles, Eldrige, ...) have been playing. I've found a web page
with such a list for sax players
(www.Jazz-Sax.com/jazzcart/plsql/player_database.html). Is there a
similar resource for trumpet players on the net? Probably you can post
the player/horn combinations you know here!?
thanks,
Robert
This was a TPIN compilation of a while back. Included are legit players as
well. Kevin Fay did the compilation.

Bach 1B is not quite right, but close. Phil makes a big deal about saying
it is a 5B underpart with a 22 throat and a Symphonic backbore (24),
threaded to a Bach 1C rim. He told me that he personally did not care for
the bach 1B as it is currently made. I
Others:
Mark Gould plays Yamaha, as does Jim Thompson, and most of the LA Phil section.
Charles Schlueter plays a Monette Raja trumpet with a C1-1 mouthpiece, or
sometimes a C1-1D. He also plays a Monette piccolo and a Monette flumpet.
Cal Price plays a Monette STC-1 Bb and C trumpets (the new STC-1 design),
and a B/C1-5 mouthpiece.
Dominic Spera plays a Yamaha, although the models have changed. When he
finds a horn he likes, he plays it.
There was an article in the Windplayer Magazine that listed what a lot of
the top call studio players in LA play as well. It was from a couple
yearsa ago, but is very informative.
I am sure there is more out there!
AL
Chase played a Tottle X-25 top (don't know what backbore) at one time
> > David Hickman--Tpt: Yamaha
Hickman played a combination C-D a la Voisin/ Ghitalla many years ago
