Hi! I am a sophmore in High school and I' m looking for new horn to replace
my Bach student TR300. Does anybody know what the "Monique" brad
intermediate trumpet is like? I have heard it is good and wanted some other
opinions before I buy it. I play lead concert and marching band music as
well as jazz. Thanks in advance!

I don't know alot but since your question hasn't been answered yet, I
think the Monique trumpets are made in China. If I am correct, in China
acts of personal expression may be deemed counter-revolutionary
insubordination. What they have done is to make trumpets where an
individual wishing to express themselves would have a most difficult
time, and quit. In other words don't get one. This is what I think, get
some more opinions, good luck, Paul in Boston

For the same money (or less) you could have a professional horn with
the Blessing ML-1. U.S. made, excellent quality and sound. Check it
out at: wwandbw.com

I suspect that the original poster meant "Monique". You can find Monique
brand instruments listed by a dealer on the Yahoo Internet auctions site
with a link to the dealer's home page. I know nothing of their quality,
except there is some mention in one of the instrument ads about them being
made in China.

I don't intend to slander any instruments I know nothing about, but it does
deem to me like the Blessing might be more of a "known Quantity"....

maybe you have confused monette and monique. apparently, monique is an
adulteration or imitation of monette, which happens to be the most flexible
and most liked trumpet among jazz and classical players world wide. check on
this url nad be astonished by its grandeur and majesty. you'll want to have
a monette, i am sure. but it is rather costly. anyway, i could very well be
wrong. so be it.

BEWARE!!! I purchased one of the Monique trumpets as a back up horn
for my students to use. It was the worst instrument I have ever held
to my face. It's laquer was PEELING off of it. The braces had
snapped apart. The valves were misaligned. The threads on the valves
didn't line up etc etc. etc.

I sold it for a loss and feel relieved to be rid of it.

Again, you're talking about a Monique, not a Monette, in this case,
aren't you?
