A few weeks ago there was a discussion about the Yamaha "Z" horn and
which lead players, other than Bobby Shew, actually used it. Well, I
just received Yamaha's "Backstage Pass", their promotional periodical,
that listed several lead players. The list included:
Roger Ingram, lead for Linclon Center Orchestra
Dan Miller and Craig Johnson, Maynard Ferguson alumni
Dave Trigg, LA freelanc and lead for Natalie Cole
Buddy Gordon, lead for Ray Charles
Tom DeLibero, lead for Doc Severinsen
Rick Vogel, and the whole USAF trumpet section
Mike Steinel, at University of North Texas
etc., etc.

This is an awesome horn, anyone who can afford one should get one, I have
had mine for a year and it's great.

Do you know the differences to my YTR 6345HG?

The difference is like day and night. Your trumpet is a heavyweight horn with a
large bore (.463') and a gold brass bell that produces a big, full, dark
sound. The 6310Z is a medium bore (.445") lightweight horn with a yellow brass
bell that produces a a bright sound, primarily used in lead work. These two
horns are about a different as they can be.
