I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this post, but I know some
of us older electronic rock freaks from back in the 1970's remember this
imaginative and progressive keyboard player (in some ways, he was like
Keith Emerson). I have all their albums (Triumvirat) -- the last one I
believe back in the late 70's or early 80's. Wher is this incredible
keyboard player, I can't imagine he left the arts for something else --
or is he producing albums under a private label in Europe that I have never
heard of?? Any latest news would be appreciated.

Ahhh, Hans-Jurgen Fritz. What a guy. Mister "If Keith Emerson Owns
One, I've Gotta Own One Too." No kidding; he bought a Yamaha GX-1,
the only one outside of the US and UK ever sold, when he found out
that Emerson had one. Used it on ONE album (Pompeii by Trimuvirat).
What a guy. Awesome keybordist, tho; his best work is on Trimv's
first three albums, namely

>Illusions on a Double Dimple

>Spartacus

...which are #2 and #3, and the very rare "Mediterranean Tales"
which was their first and IMO their best. They are the progenitors
of what I call the Triumvirat Syndrome: people who aren't native
English speakers singing in English for mass appeal despite the
fact that their attempts at waykewl lyricism fall totally flat.

"When the hell broke loose at midnight time to die was near
Golden tongues disastrous fire increeeezing human fear
Sounds of pra-years to God had faded there was no escape
Burning bodies crowded sundeck told them it's too late"

(organ solo)

"Death by fire and awful question but they still could choose
Burned to ashes or getting drowned nothing left to lose"

(organ solo)

(repeat)

Other great examples: Anything with vocals by Focus, and Peter
Baumann's third Album "Repeat Repeat".

PS. Where's Fritz now? Couldn't tell you. Sorry.

Juergen Fritz did the soundtrack for a german/russian science fiction
film "Hard to be a god". I own a copy of the CD. Wow. Mind-Blowing.
Some kind of symphonic new age stuff. Sounds a bit like Vangelis.
Also, he produced some very bad mainstream artists, including Lori
Bianco (yuk!).
But the Hard To Be A GoD soundtrack is worth getting. I doubt it's being
released in the U.S., but perhaps you can rent a video of the film (It's
from 1990, directed by Peter Fleischmann)

Any reason why Triumvirat music is not found on Spotify? Some of the greatest progRock albums in existence. Rolling Stone named Triumvirat the 45th Best progRock band of all time.
