don't bother with the waldorf Q unless you've got lots of $ to spend - your
supernova has enough horsepower to cover pretty much all the analog sounds
you'll ever need. as for the JP8080 - totally overpriced given what it can
do. i suspect it has managed to maintain its price only due to reviews in a
certain british publication whose name i'm too well-mannered to mention ;-)
if you really do want another synth, get a quality rompler like one of the
XV/JVs - it'll give you those nice floaty roland digital pads and leave you
lots of room to add interesting elements to your music with their onboard
sounds and scope for expansion. in fact, you could almost buy an XV5080 and
use that instead of a sampler (unless you're into doing your own sampling of
course as the XV only plays back samples.) however, the XV is expensive and
IMO not worth the money. maybe for $300 less...
the emu XL1 is also a relatively cheap but powerful & expandable option you
might want to consider, as is the triton rack which has great sounds and a
good sampler built-in.
bonne chance

for that particular keyboard?
Consider a wavetable synth that includes some orchestral, acoustic
material. That'll broaden your palette of colors a lot when mangled.
Until you acquire a real stack, always try to buy an instrument UNlike
your others to compliment what you have.
I was interested by the Waldorf Q or the Roland JV-8080. Any

Also look at the Access Virus module and Nord Lead module, both of
which are knob-laden and tough. Consider a modest sampler and CD-ROM
drive; you can sample rare events & stacks from your existing gear, as
well as lift things from libraries proper. And if you have a sequencer
of ANY kind, wring out all the channels you can muster. That Supernova
is a real POWER synth for that kind of duty.
