I've had a lot of fun with my 4-track, and now I'm looking for the next
step. . .Does anyone know of a good school in the Denver/Boulder
Colorado area that teaches studio recording?

Thanks,

For anyone considering education in audio recording, I would encourage
them to consider a broad range of approaches:

1) 4-year college programs specific to audio recording.

2) 1 to 2 year programs specific to audio recording.

3) Short-term programs (5 weeks to 6 month), followed by "on-the-job" training.

4) Short-term programs taken as a supplement to a 2 or 4-year college
degree NOT specifically in audio recording (perhaps a business
administration, computer-science, music or liberal arts degree....).

There are merits to all such approaches, no single approach is right for
everyone.

I am the Director of The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio. Our
school is an example of a short-term program. Our core program is 5-weeks
long (200 hours of training) and can be followed up with an additional 3
weeks of specialized training for a total of 336 hours.

The Recording Workshop has been offering audio recording training for 25
years. Our students come from all over the world, and we have many
graduates that have had much career success through our educational
approach.
