Although my onboard battery level still reads 2.8 volts (and the
minimum is 2.2 volts) my Yamaha DX7 forgets the settings for Pitch Bend
and Modulation every time I shut off the power.

Is this normal?

If so, it's a pain. I can't say a DX7 is the easiest thing to program!

Thanks!

Hi Dinsdale,

I believe the DX7 doesn't remember any of the performance settings.
The TX7 expander is needed for that. The TX7 stores another 32 voices
and 64 performance patches for the DX7 and itself.

The YamahaDX group on Yahoo has about 2,200 members they can help you
further....

Thanks, Nathan.

I actually discovered somethign else - even switching patches causes
the system to lose it's memory and reset the pitch wheel and modulation
wheel.

Thanks again.

I understand this is a very old post but did you get this sorted Nathan? I have just picked up a DX7 and have the same issue? Cheers
