Not exactly. Mr Joseph received a perfectly useable cartridge. He claimes
that you need certain "internal factory patches" in order to access certain
performances. Not true. He simply does not know how to use his equipment.
As far as the cartridge is concerned, yes it is used. I would not call it
"beat up". It works fine and we warranty it for three months. We even
mention that all cards are used at our web site. When Mr Joseph called to
let me know that he was not expecting a used cartridge I apoligized for the
misunderstanding. After all RAM4 cards as well as the TX802 have not been
made in many years. I made the mistake of assuming that he knew it was
used. In turn I got a lecture on how to run my business. Before I had a
chance to say anything, Mr. Joseph hung up the phone. A few minutes later
he called back demanding his money back. I told him that I could not do
that (due to the copyable nature of our products) but offered to help in
any way I could. I even offered him a free editor for his TX802 and the
factory patches (which he claimed he needed in order to access the sounds.
It turns out that you don't need the factory sounds to access any of our
TX802 patches). He could not be satisfied. He went on and on about what a
"cheap operation I am running". He then shot off a few four letter words
and hung up again. He then called me back a third time and hurled some
threats at me.
All of you who have delt with me through the past twelve years know that I
care very much about the quality of our work and the way we do business. If
there is a problem or a disatisfied customer (no matter how small) we try
our best to set things straight. Although in some cases this is not
possible.
Sincerely,

As I see my experience with 707 redundant patches are not isolated. Some of the
patches on the Kid Nepro Korg 707 card that I bought were copied straight from
the DS8 factory set, even the names were the same. Perhaps someone from KORG
should investigate this towards (C) and stuff.

Don't believe everything you read in the newsgroups kiddies. It seems that
certain people think they can say anything about anyone as long as they
don't have to prove it.
A few facts:
1- Our DS8/707 sounds were programmed by my good friend John Mcshane. I
know for sure that he would never lift any of the factory sounds. He
doesn't have to. He's too good a programmer. We have been selling the
DS8/707 patches for nearly ten years. Does it seem logical that we would
still be selling them after all this time if they were the same as the
factory stuff? Don't you think someone would have complained to us by now?
As a matter of fact we often give away the factory sounds for free to many
customers who purchase our sounds. It seems that the thousand or so people
who have purchased these sounds feel differently then rasinspark. Anyone
who reads this is welcome to view our DS8/707 sound lists at our web site.
2- When musicians call Korg looking for new sounds or the factory sounds
for their old synth, Korg tells them to call us. We get dozens of calls
every week from people referred to us by Korg, Roland and Yamaha. They are
happy that we support their old keyboards and we have a great relationship
with all these companies.
3- I programmed the OB8 sounds back in 1990 when I was working at Rogue
Music as a salesman. We had just gotten a OB8 in that had "no" sounds in
it. The patch memory was "blank". The boss, Dick Michaels came to me and
asked if I could program some patches into it so that it would be easier to
sell. I said sure and took the OB home with me for a couple of weeks to
work on it. When I got it home I was amazed at how easy it was to create
super phat sounds. Out of hundreds of keyboards that I've programmed, I
would have to say that that the OB8 is one of the easiest to program for.
In about two weeks time I had the OB filled with 120 really cool analog
type sounds. I programmed some killer bass, synth sounds and sweeping
effects that would sound great in any mix. I saved the data to a dat tape
and brought the OB8 back to Rogue. It sold the very next day. The customer
"LOVED" the sounds.
In the eight years since we have sold the data tape to 1,256 customers. No
one has ever said that the sounds were similar to factory stuff. How come?
I'l put my money where my mouth is. If someone decides to purchase either
one of these soundbanks and is not satisfied or thinks the sounds are
simlar to factory stuff I will not only give them their money back but will
give them a free set of sounds.
WE DO NOT LIFT SOUNDS FROM "ANYONE". ALL OUR STUFF IS DONE BY ME, JOHN AND
JOE. PERIOD>
Whats next? Is someone gonna say that I slept with Monica Lewinsky?
It is too bad that I have sold the 707 years ago along with the cards; I have
no way of proving my point. I have no reason to make up stories here. You
know what you are doing baby, and it will all come back to you. It is just
starting as a matter of fact, thanks to the information superhighway.
My, how convienant. Well if you have no way of proving what you say, maybe
you should keep your big mouth shut. I put my money where my mouth is,
where as we don't even know who you are, mystery man.
It's funny how all these negative posts are coming from AOL. The same place
as the original. We all know that AOL users can have up to five different
user names in their account. It seems that someone has an Ax to grind.
I'm not fooled and most people will see past your little sharade.
But that's not reason enough for me to be spending my time defending him.
When I see this much misinformation, inuendo, and plain ol' crap being
slung around the newsgroups I usually laugh. When I see it being slung at
someone who I know doesn't deserve it I hit the reply button.
From what I can read the crime seems to be that Kid Nepro sold this guy a
cartridge that was scratched. I don't see how that affects the sound.
Cartridges either work or they don't. In any case I can't believe that the
alleged victim tried in good faith to work it out. I had a problem with a
disk that worked in KN's unit but not in mine, and the guy practically bent
over backwards to help me sending me a replacement by courier the next day
and at his expense.
In another instance he spent half an hour on the phone with me that saved a
very important session. Nobody does stuff like that anymore. In my opinion
he just doesn't deserve this kind of abuse and the jerk who's giving it to
him probably has some ulterior motive.
An aside to the legal expert a few messages back: you've obviously never
had to deal with a problem with a mail or phone order. The laws are all
designed around having the parties settle the problem in "good faith". In
the long run the vendor is given the benefit of the doubt. You don't have
to believe me, just wait 'til it happens to you.

A Satisfied Kid Nepro Customer
To Steve Proto for the second time with apology.
I actually contacted the guy that has my 707 along with the cards as he is my
buddy. Aparently the card that I've bought at the Rouge (WAY back), is the
original Korg 707 data card. Not as I wrongly recalled -Kid Nepro. I apologize
for this. My fault. Regarding me being a mystery man, I will remain this way,
as I have became quite known on NYC scene and don't need anybody to make up
stories about me. Just doesn't help with the business. As you can see I have
the guts to say "sorry, all my fault", and as a matter of fact, if you read my
very first post on this silly matter, I actually defended you. So please
accept my apology. Peace.
No problemo! All is forgiven. I appreciate your honesty. I'm sorry if I got
a little crazy but, when people acuse me of that kind of stuff I feel I
have to defend myself.

I usually don't get into this kind of argument, but I must honnestly say
that I found Kidnepro very pro and trustfully in the transaction I made
with them recently through e-mail and from Europe.
I'll buy from them again anytime if I need something they're selling.
