....there is no difference between the b3,c3, or a-100 models
internally (well, the a-100 has self-contained amp/speakers...). they
are identical. percussion controls are identical, although hammond
made a couple of "refinements" to the percussion circuitry over the
years. any difference would be due to variances in the
generators/manuals, since the hammonds were hand built, each one
sounds a little bit different. there is no difference (other than
power requirements) between european models - pitch for the hammonds
is determined by line frequency, however, so start/run motors would
have to be 50 cycle. ditto for leslie motors - they need 50 cycle
hubs, or they will run slow overseas....but since you're in the
states, you don't have to worry about any of that shite. what you do
have to worry about if you're a first time buyer, is the
mechanical/electronics condition of the organ in question. check the
manuals for all tones (remember, with percussion engaged, one drawbar
bus is rendered inoperable...) - if there's a manual wire broken,
you're in for an expensive repair. bring somebody knowledgable about
the instruments along so you don't get burned. stay away from road
dogs. they will cause you tons o' trouble. if you move your b3, do it
gently, and keep the generator tied down...good luck...
