I Have an AKAI X7000 sampler Keyboard, I hope that some one will
help me I need music samples I prefer free (from some sites) or
very low cost disks or CD, Also if I can find samples of middle
eastern instruments is a big plus. Btw the Sampling frequency
is 4 Khz-40 Khz.

Also can I change the 2.8 disk drive to a 3.5" disk drive ? did any
one tried that?

Thank you in advance

You might be able to use the Alesis Datadisk with the X7000, I'm not positive
on this though.

I think you are mistaken about the sampling frequency...it's more like
.8khz-16khz...as for samples...apart from Keyboard magazine's FTP site, I
haven't been able to find any...I don't know why...most sample sites are
proprietary...that is, a Roland site has only Roland samples, and they
only work with Roland samplers...if you do find any cool sites...please
let me know...I've been trying for the longest time...

Change the 2.8 disk drive? Are you nuts?....Why, that's the fun with the
X-7000 and S-700...trying to be economical with your
samples...seriously...I don't think it can be done...best thing to do is
get yourself some sample dumping software like Sound Designer or Turbo
Synth, which allow you to import and export samples via midi to/from your
computer...it might take a little longer to load samples this way, but
it's way cheaper and easier than trying to find those bygone 2.8 quick
disks...

I've never heard of anything like that before.
I used to own an X-7000, but sold it because it would be too expensive
to build a usable sound library with it (I've got a Yamaha TX16W
instead now).

Anyway, I did find out a while after I had sold the X-7000 that
librarians specifically for this machien was available- at least for
the Atari ST computers.....
And there are sample editors available that do several samplers, so
you could go for that if you have a computer connected to it.
