Does anyone know if the internal sequencer of the Boss Dr660 drum machine
outputs MIDI data, say to trigger extra drum sounds from a sampler or to
transfer sequnces to computer?

thanks,

Yes, it does output MIDI.... I've done exacty that to get some beats
into Digital Performer.... however, it's a little wacky....
you'll want to set the tempos the same, then cut them both in half...
or just set them both to around 60 bps.... the reason is that if you
have thickly layered drum sequences on the DR-660 and try to move them,
you wind up with them being on say 1|1|012 instead of 1|1|000...
see what I'm saying I'm not explaining well, but I think you get the
idea...
then quantize what you wind up with in Performer, and everything should
be peachy.... I haven't had any luck getting sequences from Performer
back into the DR-660 though....

Oh yes, and you have to make sure the dr660 s on the same channel
as the track you're recording.... <smirk>....

Hope this helped.... if not, get me when I haven't just woken up....

I can
