The old XB-2? That thing sucked hard. The Roland VK-7 totally killed it.
BUT..
I recently had the chance to A/B a VK-7 and an XK-2. Let's just say the
XK-2 made the Roland sound like a sample-based synth.

Would anyone know the differences between the XB-1 and the XK-2? They
look exactly the same. It's like the XK-2 is a renamed XB-1, because
the name XB-1 sounded less than XB-2 while the XB-1 was newer and
better.
The Keyboard Magazine B3 Shootout review:

The XK-2 won in overall Sound Quality, Leslie Simulation, Playability
It did not win first place in sound quality and playability

It did not win first place in sound quality and playability
Correction: it did win first place for playability because it redesigned
the keys from synth-type to waterfall type (just like the B3)
Sorry for the mistake.

I'm not surprised. When I left one band they replaced me with this wild guy
who was both an electrical engineer and old keyboard (we didn't call them
"vintage" in 1978) fan. He's in demand as both a Hammond, Rhodes and Wurli
tech (with emphasis on Hammond) as well as a designer for Voce.

I'm even less surprised now that I checked out
http://www.keyboardmag.com/features/b3shootout/b3shootout.shtml
The guy I was talking about is Dave Amels, who plays the Voce sound
examples. I had no idea he had a book _25 Hammond Licks You Must Know_.

Great store.
