Shit and more expensive shit!
They're both ROM-playback toys for rAvE kIddIe-DJ waNnAbEs.
Blah.
Save your money and pay $1500 for a TB-303 to wank with.
So I'd say YOU are the wannabe kiddie... the real issue is not if
it's ROM playback or Analog... it's what are the overall
features that inspire you to make great music... the MC (the 505
kicks ass BTW, I just tried it yesterday... I love the fact that
the Part Select buttons also act as Punch Lights...) has (almost)
everything you need to make great tracks... and so what if it's
trendy? if you have great ideas, you'll stand out anyway! it
doesn't really matter which gear you use, as long as it sounds
good (that was the idea behind the uprising of the TB & TR in the
first place, by the way, so...).

actually, the reason behind using those boxes was the fact that they
were so worthless, that DJ pierre found one in a pawn shop for nothing.
all those old roland analogue machines were the most uncool thing in
the world in the late 80's thats why the cats in detroit and chicago
used them on those old records. They used roland, cause they could
afford it.
