Hi,

I'm thinking about buying the new MC-505 or maybe just the MC-303 from
Roland...
Can anyone tell me what the what the differences are between the MC303
and the MC505???

Hope you can help me...

Best Regards,

I just played one last night at the Guitar Center. Talk about an
awesome box! First off, it's roughly double in size. There's a mixer
onboard for 8 tracks now. Retail price is $1295.00, roughly double
the 303.

Shit and more expensive shit!

They're both ROM-playback toys for rAvE kIddIe-DJ waNnAbEs.

Blah.

Save your money and pay $1500 for a TB-303 to wank with.

What's the use of paying --1500$--(!) for a TB-303 when you get
these sounds in the MC (and pretty much everywhere)? And who
cares if it doesn't EXACTLY sound the same? In the final mix,
after compressing, gating, mixing, EQing and burning/pressing,
you can be CERTAIN you won't hear the difference...

So I'd say YOU are the wannabe kiddie... the real issue is not if
it's ROM playback or Analog... it's what are the overall
features that inspire you to make great music... the MC (the 505
kicks ass BTW, I just tried it yesterday... I love the fact that
the Part Select buttons also act as Punch Lights...) has (almost)
everything you need to make great tracks... and so what if it's
trendy? if you have great ideas, you'll stand out anyway! it
doesn't really matter which gear you use, as long as it sounds
good (that was the idea behind the uprising of the TB & TR in the
first place, by the way, so...).

actually, the reason behind using those boxes was the fact that they
were so worthless, that DJ pierre found one in a pawn shop for nothing.
all those old roland analogue machines were the most uncool thing in
the world in the late 80's thats why the cats in detroit and chicago
used them on those old records. They used roland, cause they could
afford it.
