Not sure the best place to ask this, but as these are the groups
I'm familiar with...

Has anyone tried to download a soundfont from Hammersound.net recently?
That site has always been touted as the best repository for such files,
but I can't actually seem to *find* any there! The site opens up fine,
but when I navigate to any of the pages that are supposed to list the
fonts, there's nothing there! Other pages of the site seem to be OK.

I don't think it's me, because I've tried several browsers on different
machines. I've emailed Thomas Hammer a few days ago, but no response
so far.

Anyone know the situation?

Until such issue is resolved, you may be able to download what you need
from an archived copy of that website. Try the Wayback Machine:

Heh... good suggestion! I'd never have thought of them. That's
obviously a facility to keep in mind.

Yes, they seem to have kept up to date on Hammersound, but it looks
like they may using a mirror to do so. The link I traced from there
seems to be fully functional:

http://www.ibiblio.org/thammer/HammerSound/

Thanks.

I have to amend that... It functions exactly the same way as the
main site -- there's nothing on the index pages themselves! However
the wayback machine still manages to link to the actual files on the
same site, so I can get things that way.
