I have a 48 key English Style Andreas Morelli Concertina made in Italy
in the late 1950's - Serial Number 5024. As I understand it, Morelli
is now a Chinese product. Can anyone tell me the history of Anderas
Morelli concertinas? Are there any references that have this
information - I would appreciate any leads to information on the
Internet, or in books, or other published material.

Concertina.net is my best suggestion on that one or if Don is this
thread asking him as he probably knows more than anyone else.

Actually -- I know very little about the 1950s Italian
instruments. I have a little experience with the Bastari 1970s English
system instruments, since I owned one. Those are now sold under the
name Stagi with fairly small changes.

I presume that this, like the Bastari/Stagi instruments, uses
accordion reeds in pairs in rectangular reed plates, not individual
reeds in dovetailed carriers.

So yes -- go to Concertina.net and see what they say.

DoN.
