I hope my attached file comes through for this posting. I have only done
an offline posting once before and can't remember how. Here goes...

Dear Fellow Accordionados,

I had been looking for a Joey Miskulin CD since viewing his "Accordion S=
tyles and Techniques"

video by Homespun Video, but was unable to find any until I checked a barga=
in bin at the Disk

Jockey chain store and found "Country Polkatime" for $9.99. It is more tha=
n worth the bargain

price. 1996 - Intersound.

Joey started touring with Frankie Yankovic when he was thirteen, staying=
for six years until he

joined the Hawaii Internationale Revue for an Asian tour. Back with Yankov=
ic's band he recorded

five albums for RCA and established himself as an accomplished studio music=
ian. He had his own

television show on WCLQ: Polka Time USA. In 1985 he produced the first pol=
ka recording to

win a Grammy, "70 Years of Hits" with Frankie Yankovic. Joey is also well =
know for his work

with the Riders in the Sky, who dubbed him "Joey the Cow-Polka King."

This CD contains many standard polka hits with some Cajun, country and M=
exican thrown in for

welcome variety. The accordion is generally right up front with a minimum =
of "party crowd" and

chorus sounds which sometimes make the accordion licks difficult to pick ou=
t. As an "ear-learner"

predominantly, I appreciated the cleanness of the sound. Your polka collec=
tion needs this CD. I

hope you can find it.

1. The Cracker Polka/Joey Miskulin

You will hear some Yankovic influence in this original tune. C=
horus.

2. The Tic-Toc Polka

Instead of the usual B-flat, this is in G with the first bridge=
in D and the second in C.

3. Down at the Twist & Shout/Mary Chapin-Carpenter

Cajun party time! Female and choral vocals. Nice licks. Pant=
ing bellows.

4. Under the Double Eagle

5. The Clarient (sic) Polka

Couldn't find any clarient players, had to settle for clarinets=
=2E The clarinets lead, naturally, =

but the accordion doesn't relinquish much of the lead.

6. The Pennsylvania Polka

Male and choral vocals. Traditional arrangement.

7. El Rancho Grande

There's plenty of room in between the melodic phrases and Joey f=
ills them up with lots of =

frills.

8. Just Another Polka

Choral vocals in the customary style.

9. Jambalaya/Arcadian Stomp

Joey alternates the old favorite with his own composition.

10. Hoop De Doo

11. The Laughing Polka

12. Chattahoochee

Nice punching beat.

13. The Beer Barrel Polka

Another clean rendition of an old classic.

14. The Wabash Cannonball

Some Champagne Music influence here.

You will find Joey has toured with Michael Martin Murphy, has played
with several symphonic orchestras and is one of the leading studio
session accordionists in Nashville. In addition, he operates a
prominent recording studio in Nashville. While his roots are in polka
music, Joey is an extremely talented multi-instrument musician and is
capable of flawlessly performing any type of music.

Joey is the most under-rated accordionist AND musician ANYWHERE. He is
a very quiet and unassuming person. When you see him in action, you
can't help but impressed with his musical talents.
