It sounds like it has been heavily used or badly kept because I wouldn't
expect a Guerrini of this age to be badly out of tune and to have broken
reeds. With the lack of "brightness" comment I would suspect that it's
dirty inside - possibly played a lot in smokey rooms?
It's all fixable but needs to be seen to be evaluated properly.

Normally yes rust would be a possibility, but on italian reeds of that age
it's very unusual - that's why I thought about dirt. I mean real greasy,
dust, tar laden dirt) which also affects tuning significantly.

and thanks for your quick answers !
In the meantime, I built out the bass-reeds - no rost at all
( genau wie von Dir erwartet, Len )
When I try the reeds by blowing in
(yes, I know, I must not do that because of rost, but at the weekend I
didn´t know....)
some reeds will not make any noise, or sometimes the tone comes very
thin, or only at a certain pressure
Well, this guerrini seems to be a nice instrument, and I will try to
get repaired it.
Thanks for your answers
