Hi folks,

I'd like to try to play accordion-tunes in the Tex-mex-Style. Does anybody
know if there is a instruction book available for this style?

Thanks for your help
Fred

Gilbert Reyes Jr. is in the process of creating a book. He has some info
posted on his website, also he sells the Maya's Music video tapes (see
below). http://www.reyesaccordions.com/

Videos: Maya's Music has 6 Tex-Mex instruction videos (narrated in Spanish).

Homespun Tapes, Inc.: Flaco Jimenez/Tim Alexander Tex-Mex

10, or more, songs that he demonstrates at half-speed). (The latter is good,
the former is not very instructive but entertaining).

Hello Manfred
..please go to my site at:
www.accordions.com/garydahl
..you will find a Tex-Mex book, published by Mel Bay listed there and a
brief description about the book.
It doubles as an instruction book when you learn the arrangements. This
book also includes a CD by the original artists.
The arrangements can be played on both piano accordion and diatonic
accordion. (I'm not sure about a squeezebox...<g>) :)

Darn! I'm one of the idiots that play squeezebox, so I guess it won't work for
me. ;-)

Hello,

In addition to the otherthings mentioned, There is a Book/cassette available
from Homespun.
The cassette has the band on one stero channel, and the accordion on the
other. All the songs are at full and half tempo.
