The Mackie is the best in my humble opinion because of the quality of
sound - I think of a mixer as partly an instrument. And you can't beat
the price. One board I used - I think it was an Alesis - made the music
sound "thin". I feel the same way about Tascam boards, though less so.
I don't know Behringer. But Mackie is very quiet and clean, yet has a
good sound quality, a richness. Any of the ART peripherals are great
too. I have an ART tube mic preamp that really warms up my digital
sound...

I have to agree that Mackie is the way to go. As part owner in a recording
studio, Mackie is the only board we would ever use. We have tried the others
and found less than desired results. Stick with Mackie and you won't have
a problem.

Mackie is making great stuff now that smokes the competition. There
prices are still reasonable. A lot of pro I am working with are using
the Mackie in their rigs.
