Clive was one of the most prolific songwriters to come out of Britain in
the 1970's, his songs being recorded by over 135 different artists but
including Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, Dusty Springfield, Vera Lynn,
Crystal Gayle, Roger Whittaker, Petula Clark and many more.
They included 'I Close My Eyes and Count To Ten' and 'Losing You'
for Dusty, 'A Minute of Your Time' for Tom and 'Here I Go Again' for the
Hollies.
Clive was born and raised in Wales, but went to London to study piano at
the Royal Acedemy of Music. It was through Vera Lynns Husband that he
first got involved in pop music and song writing, and from there he went to
Carlin Music in Saville Row London where he remained for many years as
the main staff writer.
He had made his home in Nashville, Tennessee since 1980 and was married
to wife Barbara for eighteen years. He has four children by two previous
marriages. Julia and Annika who live in Germany, and Andrew and
Christopher who live in England. He is also survived by one Sister,
Marilyn Lane who lives in Hengoed, Wales.
Funeral services were held at Bellevue Baptist Church, Highway 70.
Nashville TN 37221 on Wednesday 21st June at 11 o'clock in the morning,
followed by burial at Lawrenceburg, Tennessee later that day.
