I am looking for a Saxophone repairer in the UK that reliably overhauls
vintage instruments.

I have a very old tired Tenor Sax which now, thanks to your News Group, has
been identified as a very early Selmer Model 22 still under the
Adolphe Sax name (Serial No.9xx, origin about 1924). It needs a full
overhaul, re-pad, and replacement of a lot of weak springs. Other than that
the instrument is
sound.

If anyone can recommend such a repairer, preferably in the South of England,
it would be greatly appreciated as I wish to get the work done before
September.

Thanking you all in anticipation.

I'd do it, but I'm up in the North. I think Steve Howarth is a bit nearer to
you. He sure knows his stuff !!!

i put a similar post here about 3 months ago to get an old quesnon from the
1920's fixed up. someone sent me the name Sue Redsull, she's in mitcham,
south london. I took it along to her, she had a great attitude, advising
me that it wasn't worth the price of an overhaul but that she could do some
work to bring it up to a more playable standard (i can't play yet by the
way). Picked it up today, she has re-padded a bit fewer than 1/2 the pads,
taken out loads of dents, re-aligned a few things, generally done a great
job, and all at a bargain price! Thoroughly recommended. Her ph no is

good luck
