Hello.... can someone describe the saxello to me? Does Bennie Maupin use this
instrument on his solo on Hancock's composition "Sly"? That instrument
sounds like a cross between an oboe and a soprano sax....

The King Saxello (capital S, please -- it's the name of a specific product,
not a generic term like "saxophone") was basically a soprano sax with a 90
degree bend at the bell and another at the neck. It was made in the 1920s
and '30s.
