"practical" range for non-professionals for alto/tenor sax?

I am trying to confirm what the "practical" range is for alto/tenor
sax.

In concert pitch, for a non-professional player, would this be about
accurate - or too narrow or too wide?

alto sax: F below middle C to two octaves above (concert pitch)

tenor sax: C below middle C to two octaves above (concert pitch)
