I heard about really soft reeds number 1! and berg larsen mouthpiece but
which number? was it a small 105?

I brought that up here once. I remember reading about it somewhere, in an
interview from when "Que Pasa" came out. Gato said he uses a 1, and that
no one else would be likely to pick up his horn and play it that way. I
thought that was really odd, I never hear of sax players using anything
under a 3 (even with a Vandoren, which seems reltively stiffer than a 3 in
another brand).

I wonder how long a red lasts on his horn? I figure that a 1 would fall
apart pretty quickly.

I don't know the particulars about the rest of his setup.
