Our local version of that advice is, 'If it swims or flies, don't touch it.'
Parrots (as saxophones, I mean - we have dozens in the garden :) ) are
new to me, though.

As has already been said - they're awful.
In case you need the technical low-down - the brass alloy they're made
of has a tensile strength only slightly higher than that of butter.
Merely picking the horn up can extert enough pressure on the keys to
throw the regulation out.
Couple this with shoddy build quality, the most appalling pads and
arbitrary tuning and you have a remarkably poor instrument.

Even the cheapest modern Taiwanese horn will outshine them.

I hope you haven't bought one!!

I have never heard of of a parrot sax, but I happen to know, from a VERY
reliable source, that the parrot brand trombones frankly suck ass...
