I am in the middle of purchasing a Yamaha U3 piano. I've been
told it is 3 years old but I want to verify it by myself. Is
there any online resource that I can check it out? I need this
information immidiately. I've been cheated when I brought
my first piano. The piano was about 10 years older than age the
owner told me. So I have to be careful this time. Thanks.
In case any one has a book, could you please check it for me?
The serial number is 4907817 and the model is U3E. Thanks in
advance.
Pleaes e-mail to sa...@slip.net or post.

I found an online piano repair parts outfit that offers this service, but
have not tried it myself yet. If you have WWW access use:
http://www.pianosupply.com/ips.html
Otherwise eamil i...@pianosupply.com
Just for grins I'm cc'ing them, and hoping the can reply to you directly.
Sara,
Your best bet is to call Yamaha direct with the serial number (unless
you can verify it through a dealer locally). Yamaha's customer service
number is 714-522-9000. In my experience there's someone there during
regular business hours (PST), Monday through Friday.

Dear Sara, Group,
I would like to modify this statement. This piano is more likely a 1990
based on Yamaha's production rate of 150,000 + pianos per year from
1985-89 listed in Pierce Piano Atlas, 9th Edition.
Thank you,
Keith
