Hello,

I own an "Eavestaff mini-piano" and want to sell it. I've looked on the web
for ideas, and have only found a few listings, all in the UK. I live in
northwest Washington State in the US.

I'm wondering how much I should ask for it.

My piano is probably from the mid-30's. It's made from solid hardwood,
possibly cherry. Very dark brown in color. It has a small triangular chip
in the front of the left leg, about five inches high and two-and-a-half
inches wide at the bottom. Otherwise, the case is in good condition.

I have the original bench and it's in good condition.

The inside will need to be re-regulated. A few of the keys "sag" and do not
play. We had a tuner tune it for us about 10 years ago and a string broke.
He was able to get it into tune, however. We've since moved it.

Anyone have any idea what this might be worth?

TIA,

Karl Perry

I think the Hardman Peck Minipiano is basically the same thing, made under
license from Eavestaff. They look nice in an Art Deco way, and are actually
among the first spinets to be marketed in the USA. Despite this distinction,
yours probably isn't worth more than a few hundred, unless somebody finds it
essential to match their decor.
I've never removed the action on one, but that operation looks especially
aggravating.
