I'm thinking about purchasing a digital piano, but I'm on a really
tight budget.
My choices are either a Roland EP9
or an older Technics SX-PX55 (7 years old)
Can anyone tell me pros/cons, or which one is worth getting.
I can get both right now for about the same price.
Thanks!
The PX55 hands down is the better unit. Yes, the ep-9 might be newer,
but remember the ep series technology is as old (if not older) than the
Technics. They both use PCM-based samples. Some (but not all) of the
Technics advantages:
Better action (hammer vs. spring-weighted)
Better amp
More & bigger speakers
Much nicer cabinet
Higher quality samples
Bench
Either unit should set you back from $1200-$1500 used in this neck of
the woods.
Good Luck!
