In the middle of the second movement (third stanza?) around measure 65,
there's a trill on D two octaves above middle C marked as "1323" with a
little flat sign above the wavy trill line. What notes do I play? D F E
F D F E F... doesn't sound right, and neither does D E Eb E D E Eb E....
Subsequently, in measure 73, the continuing trill is marked with "23"
and has a natural sign above the wave. Do I assume I play D and E from
this point on?
Lastly, starting from measure 117 (a variation on the main theme), there
are "132" trills on D and on C. Are they played D F# E D F# E... and C E
D C E D..., respectively? Somehow they sound funny to me.
Thanks in advance. This is unexplored territory for me: I'm familiar
with only the initial melody and don't know what these later passages
are supposed to sound like, as I've never heard them before.

My edition (in Suzuki Vol. 7) has this trill marked with "23" and the
flat sign above. I play it as D-Eb-D-Eb-D-Eb etc. This same trill
pattern is used an octave lower in measures 71-72.

Yes, this trill is marked in my edition as playing D-E-D-E etc. with
fingers 2 and 3.

In the Coda, the beginning trills are not marked as "132" in my
edition. There are trills marked in the D, C, and B, and played
flowing into one another. I finger these as follows ("/" marks the
measure breaks):
2323 23232 13232 / 1212 12121 23121 / 2323 23232
13232
DEDE DEDED CDCDC / BCBC BCBCB CDCDC / DEDE DEDED CDCDC etc.
The notes are in groups of four 16th notes and groups of five 16th
notes. The fingering remains the same for measure 118 except at the
end:
1212 12121 23232
BCBC BCBCB CDCDC
..so that you end up with RH Finger 3 on the beginning D of the
triplet section.
I hope this helps you. I am clumsy at writing out music--I am sure
there is a better way of doing this. :) Enjoy playing this piece! It's
one of my faves to play, and people like listening to it since it
changes mood throughout. Also, it's a good piece to showcase your
"flourish" and demonstrate speed and command of the keyboard.

This has helped immensely, Heather. Thank you very much! The sheet
music's ornament fingering had thrown me off; it led me to believe I had
to follow the fingering on the trills in the same fashion.

Thanks, I will. I first tried playing it decades ago (at the time of
junior high) but it might have been a simplified version or simply the
first part, which is why the latter half is new to me. I agree it's full
of flourish and a nice performance piece, and it's been a pleasure to
take it up again!
