Donald, Unless the piano scene in Melbourne is greatly different from Sydney,
most Japanese used imports are not done up before import. Some stores and
technicians may do some work to bring them back up, others do nothing and
sell them 'as is'.
Given that this one is as stated

For the same price you are only going a Young Chang or an Alex Bechstein
(Samick) baby grand. I think a GOOD UX is greatly superior to these cheap
end baby grands.

Hard hammers can make it the sound overwhelming, especially when you put the
pedal down. This can be rectified. A tendency for the top 2 or 3 strings on
the base bridge to buzz to various degrees. Check for a nice smooth
transition across the treble and base sections. Anyone who has found a cure
for this buzzing on UX's or U3's please let me know. Also, as with the U3's
some of the X and W range have a tendency to sound 'thin'.

Steinway or Bechstein!!
