It's interesting that he uses Gretsch kicks & floor toms, but the
smaller toms are Tama. I will say the *best* kick I have ever heard
was a 16x22 Gretsch.
I once saw a picture of a house kit in a "big time" studio--I think it
was one in New York. Anyway, it looked like every tom was a different
brand! There was a Yamaha Maple Custom, Gretsch, and a DW, at least. I
couldn't tell what the kick was.
Whatever works, I guess.

I do recall that video myself. He was using a set of 15" Sabian HH Hi Hats as
plain as day. And right about the same time his big zildjian ad campaign came
out in the magazines.. I bet they were hoping nobody caught that on MTV.
