I would like to here any comments about Tamburo drum sets. I'm going to buy
a drum set to my child but I'm not a drummer my self, so no own experience
about playing percussions.

Tamburo makes VERY nice stave shell drums. They also use a special ABS plastic
over the bearing edges. I would not think these are drums for a kid. They are a
professional level kit and not cheap.

The cheaper series (Ash, XD and Studio) could be suitable for a child.
The quality of the low-end hardware is not necessarily very good,
though. For a small child you might want to get a smaller set, for
example with jazz sizes:

Thanks for your comments. Although I'm looking for first drum set for my
kid, I was advised to prefer Sonor or alike quality brand rather than cheap
ones like Millenium or even cheapest Pearl set. Their value drops
immediately after closing the door of music shop...

Well, I planned to order Sonor 503 Serie Studio Set (only 414 euros), but at
this time they have too long delivery time, at least through Thomann. After
surfing a while I found Tamburo Ash serie sets ( 525 euros at Thomann).

So, do you have opinion how awful for example Millenium MX820BK (

might be when compared to set mentioned above?

The cheaper Sonor series are made in Asia (Taiwan?), not Germany, and
aren't necessarily much better than for example Pearl.

The value will always drop if you buy new. Buying used drums is a good
option, you can usually some decent drums for the price of a new
entry-level set. I assume you're Finnish, so you might want to check out
the discussion forum of DAF (Drummers' Association of Finland):

I don't have any personal experience of the Millenium sets, but they are
known for having relatively bad hardware. The cymbals are probably quite
horrible as well.

Thank you very much for comments, Thomas! And yes, I'm Finnish.
Siispä suuntana DAF.
Bye.
