I welcome any opinions on the Premier "Signia" drum kit vs. any other
brands including comparisons to other Premier models as well. I'm mostly
interested in drum sound and "bang for the buck". Thanks in advance.

The Signia kit is made well but the mounting system chokes the drums. Get
them with R.I.M.S instead of Premiers system. I also feel the Genista
series is a better sounding drum than the Signia. For the same amount of
money you should check out Ayotte Drum Smith and the Custom line but with
steel hoops ( keeps the price more in line with the Signia's). The Ayotte
drums are better made than any mass produced drum and you should check out
there craftmanship and sound! Good luck, Mike

Mike @ sacarab...

you've got to be kidding me..Ayotte? Sure, I want to buy yet another Keller
shell from New Hampshire that is sent to Taiwan to be finished and assembled.
Sure, that's some real value, plus you can only get a limited range of sizes
and 3 colors..

not a problem.... I'll stick with my star classics...

Hmm. I was under the impression, that Ayotte drums were custom made in
Canada.

Nope. The Ayotte DrumSmith line is assembled in TAIWAN. And I don't
see how these can be called *custom made*.

I personally have no way of knowing if what you say is true however....the
drumsmith line are not the drums that are tauted as being custom drums. It is
the wood rim drums that are the custom drums - or at least can be. the
drumSmith drums are only available in specific sizes and specific colors.
Clearly that is not a custom drum.

Assembly - if you say it is taiwan, well than I believe you.
