If you have been bothered, taunted, insulted, attacked, cursed at, lied
to, lied about, by one Robert Schuh, welcome to the club! We have some
information for you that will explain who you are dealing with, what is
wrong with him, and why he gets under your skin.

without having to repaste them in your browser)

Libel; 1. a published statement which, without cause, is intended to
have the result of bringing its subject into disrespect. 2. To insult,
make false and malicious statements about.

Slander; Oral libel

This is neither.

This resource dossier was initiated in September/October 2000 and
contributed to by 23 men posting regularly to this newsgroup,
rec.music.makers.percussion, who were either provoked by Robert Schuh or

a witness to it in this, one of his more active periods of provocation.
Many emails were traded during this particular episode and it was
determined that a majority of the regular RMMP posters at that time
wished Rob Schuh's actions to be documented. This is a biased report
because we all are disgusted with Robert Schuh's behavior on RMMP. This
particular episode ended in a threat of physical harm:

If you're looking for proof of the speculation about Robert Schuh's
anonymous postings, this isn't it, though links to his suspected
anonymous posts are notated. In all fairness, those posts may or may not

have been written by or contain quotes of posts written by either Robert

Schuh or one of his "trolls". We are just compiling our findings and we
think the truth will be obvious. Some emails from regulars are quoted
anonymously with permission. Their authenticity as well as that of any
other undocumented evidence will rest on the credibility of the authors
of this document.

We can imagine what Robert Schuh's reaction to this will be; lots of his

patented cliches about websites devoted to him, etc. He will probably
scream for his lawyer and threaten one of his fantasy lawsuits. We are
not interested in his reaction to it. We are interested in getting away
from a pest. We think that this is pretty damning evidence as to his
intentions here, which is to cause trouble and garner attention, like a
child does at the expense of an adult's exasperation. There are many
working professional drummers and many sincere amateur drummers
contributing regularly to RMMP who can see that Robert Schuh's noisy
presence here must be the manifestation of other problems: "After
reading the article about Rob's 'tragic' life, it's clear that all his
problems stem from some really messed up self-image and that his ego has

led to his destruction and he keeps trying to survive via ego. I think
he's harrassing **** and **** and ***** because he's jealous that you
guys are working steady and he's living the "bitter life of the artist."

Our amateur psychiatry will do no good, but it is interesting that
everyone from the 15 year old beginner to the 60 year old veteran has
remarked about the warped, dysfunctional, character disorder behind
Robert Schuh's frothing at the mouth.

This will be an ongoing documentation and investigation. We invite
anyone to add documented facts, undocumented theories, links,
speculation, testimony and/or opinion to this report and/or include your

name to it as a supporter of its' objective, which is to ask Rob Schuh
to either admit to and cease the years of tiresome troublemaking
documented here or refrain from posting at RMMP altogether; no half
measures. We doubt very seriously that either will happen, since Robert
Schuh considers the internet his audience, so this expose is offered to
show that Robert Schuh's lack of credibility in RMMP is his own doing.
Many regulars here have "killfiled" him, which means blocked his posts
from showing up in their newsreaders and email, because they don't want
to read his antagonistic posts. Of course, it is almost impossible not
to read his posts as quotes incidentally in other people's replies, but
we still suggest that if you don't want to be bothered by his bitterness

and baiting, don't read him and don't reply to him.

The purpose of this file is not to provoke Robert Schuh, which would be
trolling on our part, but to warn the unaware of his history while
allowing us to stay out of range of his biteless bark by not responding
to any particular current posts of his. Another purpose is to cut down
on the amount of time that the group has to babysit Robert Schuh and
explain him to newcomers by documenting here his posting history, his
most repetitive maneuvers and describing his modus operandi and
suspicious activity. This will stand like a billboard in the town square

for Robert Schuh to see every time he considers harassing anyone or
telling lies about anyone in RMMP. Please post a link to it in
dejanews.com but do not alter it without permission of the authors.
Please don't post it again in its entirety at RMMP. Direct any content

This whole matter of having to put up with Robert Schuh's juvenile,
dishonest and disruptive behavior is inconsequential to the proceedings
of the newsgroup RMMP, which has grown and organized into a tight knit
group of kindred souls, many of who have become face to face friends and

colleagues in the real world, despite Robert Schuh's antics and position

that what happens in RMMP "doesn't matter on the bandstand" and doesn't
have consequences in the real world. Most of us feel that RMMP has
become an important source of information, opinion, interaction, gigs,
and direct contact between professional and amateur musicians, the drum
manufacturing industry and the music business in general. Robert Schuh
protests that other musicians don't care about RMMP, or "drum shit". The

discussions in RMMP are more about drums and drummers than music. Music
will be talked about incidentally but we are primarily concerned with
what drummers are usually concerned about; drums and other drummers. We
are concerned that some of the more well known drummers, drum builders,
drum manufacturer's reps and endorsers in particular are only lurking or

have dropped out of participating or curtailed their activities in RMMP
as a result of Rob Schuh and others bashing them and their products
indiscriminately. We mean to attract those desireables to the fold by
pointing to the incriminating actions of the undesireables. If you will
let these people know that you don't read or put any credence in
bullies, then they will be more inclined to participate. As the group of

people who use RMMP grows, so does our sense of decorum, and our sense
of responsibility in using our freedom of speech.

If you have been the recipient of one of Robert Schuh's posts designed
to make you mad, congratulations! You have been "trolled" by him and he
is enjoying your emotional response and his control over you, much the
way a child taunts a small animal. Robert Schuh likes the attention he
gets from his annoying newsgroup bullying games and mentions, quite
frequently, his band of "trolls" from other newsgroups like
misc.fitness.weights, alt.sports.weightlifting, etc. that put up
websites about his life. To quote him, "Man, I have trolls who set up
entire web pages full of libelous shit about me and set up anon, AOL and

WebTv accounts using my name or some version of it all the time. I even
had one troll e mailing some guy pretending to be me and attempting to
use some of my trade marked words etc. If I was trying to be anon, I
sure as shit would not tell someone to "Butch up Choad!" :-)"
Trade marked words? :-)

Robert Schuh seems to have an aversion to authority, parents, growing
up, and just general conformity to the mores of society. We don't need
to explain that he speaks and acts immaturely on RMMP. This is what he
has to say about it:

"May I also point out that you have long ago left any hope of youth and
open mindedness. Do you know when you became old and started thinking
like your parents? Man, I am almost 40 and if I EVER start to think like

this, I want someone to kill me!"

Robert Schuh displays this arrested development often. Robert Schuh has
a hard time realizing that he is nearly 40 years old and that he IS the
establishment, part of the generation in charge of society and making it

work by contributing to it. HE has some serious denial problems. This is

all evident by his refusal to accept responsibility for his dishonest
actions on the internet.

Please realize that most of us here never had much trouble with "trolls"

before we met Robert Schuh. His words, "I have FAR more trolls than
you", is very illuminating.

He signs every post "the most trolled man on the internet" which aptly
states his priorities. What he didn't put in his signature is that all
of his trolls became such only after they were first bullied by him.
This report is designed to not give him that direct emotional attention,

but rather to inform you of what we know and warn you of what you may be

getting into if you respond to him. He tends to turn the tables on those

who take issue with him and call them trolls. This is a classic trolling

tactic. If there are Rob Schuh trolls, then they are in RMMP because of
Robert Schuh. There can be no other reason. He commits, attracts and
desires disruptive behavior that is not condusive to a good newgroup

There are a large number of us here who are convinced from the
circumstancial evidence that Robert Schuh posts here in RMMP and
elsewhere as other people, posting through anonymous remailing services
which protect his true identity. Anon...@cotse.com is a favorite of
his. Jeff...@cotse.com and ASSkissin'bi...@cotse.com. are others. Those
posts can be particularly nasty and personal, with nothing being sacred,

including spouses, children, sexual acts, incest, bestiality, dead
friends, and threats of physical harm, like this one:

Robert Schuh claims that some of these are written by HIS "trolls" who
masquerade as him. We wish they would stop either way. It is impossible,

for the time being, to prove which posts are written by Robert Schuh or
his anonymous personalities or his trolls. But, like the little boy who
cried wolf one too many times, no one is running to his defense. We are
reasonably sure that out of the anonymous posts on RMMP, he is
responsible for the majority of them. Most of us are interested in
talking drums, not making anonymous posts about people's babies. The
odds are against his protests and he usually doesn't make much of a
defense and lashes out at others when accused.

"I had nothing to do with any of is crap. This entire thing is pathetic.

Bill needs to get help with his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. George
Lawrence is just posting libelous crap."

He usually waits for things to die down, then starts all over again. He
uses the confusion of this type of anonymous activity to his advantage.
The similarity of writing styles and the dates are uncanny. The math of
the coincidences in similar posts is undeniable. When someone is
attacked by Robert Schuh, the target is usually also attacked by one or
more "anonymous" trolls using many of the same insults, words, and
phrases. When Robert Schuh quiets down, the anonymous posts die down.
When confronted about these anonymous posts, Robert Schuh usually
doesn't put up much of a defense, but there is usually at least one
"friend" of Robert Schuh who appears from nowhere and posts about what a

great guy Robert Schuh is. He has admitted to posting anonymously in
other newsgroups (this one is particularly offensive about his disgust
for fat people though he used to be overweight himself):

Here is a regular's email about Schuh's mental stability:

"He's been really quiet for a while. I've had him "un-killfiled" for
about a week to check his posts but not much as come out. And no "BUTCH
UP <insert explitive>" either. Strictly business so to speak. I think he

may realise that his credibility on rmmp has been shot.

It occured to me when this started to come out that he may have a real
psychotic multiple personality problem. You know those cases you hear
about where one "personality" doesn't know what the other is doing.
I know it sounds a bit far stretched, but how else would you explain his

annonymous attacks on **** and ****** while at the same time he was
keeping
the face of Mr. Jazz on rmmp and being friendly to you and Bill under
his real name? Both of you have always been more than civilised to his
cyberpersona, well until your (recent) episode that is, but even
then, you weren't mean, only justifiably upset. Even that wouldn't
explain his attacks on Bill. The only link between **** and **** is that

you were once his drum teacher and there is an obvious strong personal
and professional bound between the two of you. **** has always been the
perfect gentleman on RMMP helping others and being a real inspiration to

all. And every one was so thrilled with the birth of his baby. And!
that's when things started to go astray. And the attacks turned on the
baby and the wife. This is real sick stuff. Can jealousy alone explain
it? I don't think so. I think we are dealing with a real sick puppy
here.

Whatever the reason, I think ******** have exposed him for what he is
and
his credibility on rmmp is gone. I predict he will fade away from now on

and look for another forum to spread his venom. It was amazing to watch
how fast the discussion deteriorated on BAMD when he joined in. He's
certainly an undesirable in my book, regardless of his technical and
musical proficiency and knowledge, his cyberpersonality alone can
destroy the chemistry of any fun and interesting group. He actually
relishes the idea that he is so important, he is the "most trolled man
on the internet". Can all these trolls be faked? Maybe not but I suspect

a large numbers are probably from his Mr. Jekyl and Dr Hyde personality
disorder.

I hope you don't mind if I e-mailed you directly on this, I didn't want
to prolong the thread on rmmp more than it has to. The earlier we put
this episode away and go back to business and fun on rmmp the better."

"I always assumed that many people, including the pros of the group, had

seen and heard him play. If indeed he has built this cyberpersona from
scratch, it adds on to my theory of a very sick individual who lives in
a dream world but doesn't realise it is a dream world...and it would
explain why he has to recourse to tactics akin to guerila warfare to
protect his
fake personality.

Anyway. I hope this will all die soon, and things will get back to
"normal" on rmmp. If UKnowWhuh doesn't leave, I predict that he will be

more tame for a while, at least that's how it looks for now. No more
bully tactics and verbal abuse. Personally I hope it lasts because I do

feel that his abusive style has systematically destroyed the spirit of
camaraderie that existed on rmmp."

Robert Schuh has been busted in RMMP several times for anonymous
posting. The coincidences and the similarities in juvenile,
unsophisticated writing styles of his "real" posts and his anonymous
posts are obvious, especially when he discovers a new word and over uses

it, but you'll have to decide for yourself, since the nature of
anonymous remailing services allows the offender to hide like a coward.

Who is Robert Schuh the drummer?

He is a white caucasian in his late thirties who lives in Phoenix
Arizona. He plays the drums.

Professionally? No, he doesn't make his living from it as far as we
know.

Does he play on a master level as he claims? Who knows? Who cares? He
does!

From his prolific postings as an authority here in RMMP you'd think he
would have some experience to back it up, but the truth is very few here

have heard him play. These authors know of some who have heard him and
there was not a lot of details forthcoming. He has never recorded
anything that has been published that we know of. This is neither here
not there as far as RMMP is concerned since experience and expertise is
not a prerequisite, just an interest in drums, rather it is HIS claim to

such heights that brings the subject up. So all we can tell you is that,

according to him, his musical interests run in a very narrow vein of
50's and 60's bop and post bop jazz, free jazz, some 60's rock and soul
pioneers like Hendrix and Stevie Wonder, Jaco Pastorius who he claims to

have jammed with once, and some current jazz. He like only jazz type
drums and cymbals and tunings and doesn't tolerate other opinions about
such things. He claims to own only two drum instruction books. He thinks

this narrow focus, this ivory tower of jazz, allows him to bash anything

having to do with other musics and types of drumming, drumming
equipment, or artists and drummers that fall outside his tastes. This is

usually the basis of his flaming and trolling within the context of
drums and music. He claims to have played with some "jazz giants" and
has posted a listing of them if you care to search for it.

What does he do for a living? We don't know. Nothing as far as we can
tell.

His personal life is documented in a newspaper article that sounds like
the interviewer was force fed his romanticized view of his life. Note
the reservations that the writer expresses and the disclaimers of his
friends' comments....

Perversely, he is quite forthcoming about his federal prison time served

for his use/abuse (you decide) of bodybuilding drugs and the resultant
health problems including a kidney transplant. He seems to wear these
experiences like a badge of courage. Everybody must try to make sense of

his own life. We all have our stories here in RMMP. Robert Schuh likes
to tell his a lot. We are tired of hearing it. It is boring.

Robert Schuh's modus operandi:

Robert Schuh's tactics are those of a bully. He attacks everyone at some

point. His targets are indiscriminate targets. He particularly stalks
"newbies" and anyone advertising musical services or goods, claiming
they are spammers (we get very little actual bulk mail spamming here in
RMMP). He also attacks those who use AOL or WebTV since he knows they
may be new at usenet and particularly vulnerable to his stalking. He
usually backs off when a newbie calls his bluff well, proves that he is
respected as a professional, or proves that he knows what he is talking
about concerning music and drumming, like this guy:

"I started reading RMMP regularly only about five months ago, when I
early on had a completely unexpected verbal run-in with Shuh,
afterwhich I on-line castigated his eye-openingly juvenile reply, and
thereafter refused to respond or comment on any more of his posts.

It seems almost odd, though, considering how very reasonable --even
thoughtful-- he comes across as every so often. Yet he clearly has no
compunctions about instantly turning into a most immature,
foul-mouthed `kid'... seemingly just on a whim. It's like he has two
different personalities.

I've been tempted to respond to a couple of his more civil posts: I do
indeed like talking with other drummers, as we all do here. But `once
bitten' is quite enough for me, at least until I see some sort of long
term change in him... which I've not seen yet."

Typical of the internet bully is to pose as an authority on a subject of

which he has some knowledge and fabricate a reputation of authority
through volumous posting as justification for the flame wars that he
incites. Robert Schuh takes it one step further, though. He goes over
the line into real life, posting lies and slander about people's
personal and professional lives. He espouses free speech and the first
amendment while abusing both. This is the behavior that has rankled so
many men who would not normally bother with a mere bully.

As a provocateur his posts contain repetitive words, phrases and almost
word for word posts that are the tool of his trade, which is bullying.
He uses them over and over and over again as though it were scripted or
like a parrot (hmmmm.... maybe it's his parrot that's trolling :-) Every

internet bully has a schtick and Rob's is that of the tough guy: the
bitter, holier than thou "artiste". Here is Robert Schuh's vocabulary:
Once you realize that you were trolled with his cliches and that you
were just another faceless victim, it's easier to kill file him and move

on. Remember, this is from a nearly 40 year old man. Out of context,
much like his presence on RMMP:

mouth off to. If you want to play the tough man role, just name the time

and place. You need to butch the fuck up and post your fucking name too.

God damn pussy"

"Listen you cowardly little pussy. I am posting this in the RMMP
newsgroup
seeing that you do not have the balls to say this top me in public. You
are
useless choad who has ZERO idea of where I am at musically. Rush is a
pathetic band that is only popular with little white boys like you.
Butch the fuck up asshole! NEVER e mail me again or I will get your
account pulled.

"Butch up punk. Did you also read that they are a zero censorship
service? I DARE your little white weasel ass to write them! A fucking

Amendment anyway? It is just typical right wing bullshit trying impose
their fucked up religious morality upon the world. Ever heard of a kill
file bitch? I suggest you stick your crucifix in your ass tonight when
you ass fuck some children!!"

Well, enough of that. You get the general idea.

Robert does not call you by your real name anymore if he senses that you

are on to him or once you have caught him in a lie and called him on
it. He adds either -y or -ey or -ie to your name or comes up with a
juvenile taunting nickname for you. He also forgets and does this when
he posts as someone else from an anonymus remailer.

for Mark: "Tell my Marky, Just how did I misspell and misuse this word?"

for Dennis: "Don't even bother responding to Lardo. He has not had a gig

in a decade and won't have any soon either."

For George: "Was this too risqué or should I tone it down? I don't want
Georgy Lawrence forwarding it to Brian Spaun again! :-)"

Rob Schuh also has his supporters, or at least those who forgive his

bullying others as amusing, but it is only lately (September and October

2000) that Rob Schuh turned on even those who tolerated him and gave him

the benfit of the doubt. They are all temporary and short lived. I doubt

that you could find a supporter of Rob's of more than two years. The men

who originated this indictement excused Rob's actions for several years
and tried to befriend him. Here is an email we received from a RMMP
regular who was trying to explain to one of Rob's recently disenchanted
supporters:

people for no particular reason."

>Regular "Not true, grasshopper. Rob has very good reasons for "going
apeshit" lately and you would too, if you were in his shoes (no pun
intended).

Consider how you would react if you were posting anonymously for
more than a year, at someone else's emotional expense...laughing all the

while in your sick sense of humor sort of way, and then you were found
out.

Consider how you would feel if you had amassed a "following" of sorts
in rmmp which was made of an equal combination of:
1. People who did not yet know better than to support you or
2. Were so intimidated by your "Internet bullying tactics" that they
did not dare utter a word for fear of incurring your wrath.

...and then this "following" began to crumble when some of the most
credible folks in rmmp began to unveil your ways and your persona for
all to see. There you are, filleted open with all of your inner ugliness

revealed
for all to see. Be fair, (Mr. supporter), for in that situation you
would probably go apeshit, too.

Consider how you would feel if you had not held a job in more than 5
years
and were supported, financially, by your girlfriend.

Consider how you would feel if people came to know that you were almost
40
years of age and had to sell a snare drum to come up with money for
veterinary care for your dog. Most people could have come up with $500
in a pinch when they were 12 years old so imagine the humiliation not to

mention the shadow that casts on your life and the decisions you must
have made over the years?

Consider how you would feel if people started to peel the glamour off of

your one claim to fame, having grown up down the street from John
Medeski. Consider how your low self image would be apparent to all for
you have to still talk about events of 30 years ago, as if they were
yesterday. Imagine having a life wherein nothing more significant
happened in your life for the past 30 years so you have to tell and
retell that same story.

I could go on and on but I think his reaction is quite understandable if

you look at what it happening, his life and his internet facade/persona
is crumbling.

I hope this sheds some light on his recent aberrant behaviour."

He seems to have a hard time keeping his friends and enemies straight,
which is probably because it is hard for him to remember what was said
or replied to as an anonymous troll or as himself. This post was
particularly careless where he posts as his own admirer, Tony K.,
claiming to have lurked and occassionally posted over a year in RMMP,

I have been a lurker here for about a year now and have posted a few
times. I happen to know Mr. Schuh. I was first recommended to look for
him in Phoenix when I was moving there. I know the guys in Medeski,
Martin and Wood and asked if they knew any good drummers in Phoenix
because I was going to be commuting back and from to there. All of them,

not just his long time friend Medeski recommended that I check him out.
I actually had heard his name from a quite few people in New York when I

moved there. I have met Robert on about a half dozen occasion now and he

is quite different in person. He is a very humorous guy in person and
does't pull any punches. That part may be similar to here, but he also
is a very warm man to people who he finds to be geniune. I saw him at
one gig sit with a boy who was a drummer who had cancer and spend
another half hour after the gig to let the boy play his drums and have a

good time. While Robert needs no defense, his main asset is that he can
play. No matter what goes on in a message board thing like, really
means litle when we hop our cars and go into real life. I think that
many of us take this too seriously. While I am not much in the know as
to what is correct or not in these news groups, but I think anything
goes here, so you being disgusted or whatever is a reflection upon you
more than anything. I have been slpitting a side here with all these
people, especially you doing this "PLONK" thing as some way of
chastising someone. I find that to be very immature and actually
hypocritcal. That entire preactice entales that there is something
special about your opinion and that you have to show off to everyone. I
do not know much about your age or background, but anyone to take on
such a moniker as "DRUMGURU" has to have some self importance issues.
May I take a shot in the dark and guess that you are 5'7" or
shorter? None of us are perfect and you seem to have a holier than thou
timber to many of your posts. Your opinion here holds no more weight
than mine, so maybe if we all step back and see that we are much less
important to the whole group than we think, then there might be better
understanding.

Note that the very question implies that he has been using Replay, and
has attempted to use other remailers with less success.

As someone pointed out in an earlier post to RMMP, Schuh inquires with a

privacy NG if an email sent without encryption, nor being "chained"
(sent on a path through two or more anonymous remailers) can be traced.
Claims that he's receiving email sent this way, even though there is no
way for a receiver to know if encryption was used and it can sometimes
be difficult to know if "chaining" was used. A couple of replies point
this out to him and suggest that he's just digging up information for
his own anonymous email use.

1) he is digging for information and thinking of doing this himself
without encryption or chaining.
2) he is assuming the person who may be doing this is so ignorant that
he wouldn't know how to.
3) the person who may be doing this has admitted to doing it and
actually said he isn't encrypting or chaining.
4) others have convinced this poster that this person is doing this,
etc...

2. Schuh has discussed the idea of using false names to troll the
Usenet.

Schuh's history of harrassment in the fat-acceptance group is
well-documented. Here is just one more example.

The members of the fat-acceptance group had to move to a moderated group

because of trolls like Rob. Here, he discusses the possibility of
following them into the moderated group, using a fake email account as a

way in. SSFA PC is an abbreviation for "soc.support.fat-acceptance" and

"politically correct."

Any good ideas on infiltrating the pigs new domain? I was thinking of
setting up a few e mail accounts and start off with very SSFA PC posts.

way one can slowly but surely get more out as time goes by. The very
fact that they had to to this is an admission of guilt on their part.

3. Rob and the infamous "Dorfman" troll share an amazing coincidence.

A while back, someone posing as the head of Trick Drums with a falsified

Deja address began posting troll messages to RMMP. Those posts
attacked, among others, Bill Ray and George Lawrence. Occasionally

Here's the amazing coincidence. On that very same day, Schuh also
posted three times from his own account to alt.just.testing!!! Do you
know how many posts were made to alt.just.testing that day??? Only
EIGHT!!! So, out of eight posts, three were from Schuh and one was from

mrdt...@cutey.com!!!

And when did mrdt...@cutey.com post his troll to RMMP? The VERY NEXT
DAY. Could this merely be a coincidence? Yes. Is it likely?
Certainly not.

But why would Rob troll himself as well as George? Perhaps for the same

reason an anonymous troll went after him shortly after Bill Ray made his

accusations…to throw people off his scent. Typically, when these trolls

go after Rob, it's once, and it's fairly mild. It's a smart move from a

guy who clearly doesn't want to be uncovered.

In addition, alt.just.testing is a fairly underused group, relative to
alt.test and misc.test, but Rob almost exclusively uses it for his
multiple test posts. I guess we can say for sure that he and mrdtrick
have at least that strange preference in common.

4. There is evidence to suggest that Rob may be creating anonymous
"friends" to back him up.

During a flame war in the bodybuilding newsgroup, someone named "Tim"
posted anonymously to the group. Take a good look at what he writes (of

additional interest…the anonymizer used is cotse.com, just as in RMMP).

Let's take this duplicity as confirmation that the kaz1969 address is
certainly an anonymous front for someone who is probably neither Tony
Kazzington or Tom Rascell. Mind you, the name "Tom Rascell" doesn't

returns zero hits in the U.S. white pages. It's a phony.

You can read the thread yourself via the reference link below, but to
save you time…the Mr. Lane in question, who "Tom Rascell" finds so
unconstructive, is attempting to support one Bill Roberts, with whom
Schuh has had an ongoing and public beef.

5. Rob knew about Cotse, and even recommended it, before cotse postings

Let's take a look at this. It might be a completely false accusation
(although clearly mic...@aol.com knows Rob from the dialysis group),
but it's hard to ignore the text of the troll, which matches the MO of
the other RMMP trolls (as well as Rob's overt flames), which include
references to homosexual sex, drug abuse and mental illness (note the
recent references in RMMP to individual's past cocaine abuse, suicidal
thoughts, obsessive-compulsive disorder, etc.) as well as an almost
remarkable cruelty-the only thing comparable to telling someone in need
of a kidney that they won't get one is…well…mocking someone's newborn
baby. And, like some of the RMMP trolls, the address is a cotse version

of the troll target's address (as in drum...@cotse.com).

If you have been bothered, taunted, insulted, attacked, cursed at, lied
to, lied about, by one Robert Schuh, welcome to the club. We have some
information for you that will explain who you are dealing with, what is
wrong with him, and why he gets under your skin.

Libel; 1. a published statement which, without cause, is intended to
have the result of bringing its subject into disrespect. 2. To insult,
make false and malicious statements about.

Slander; Oral libel

This is neither.

This resource dossier was initiated in September/October 2000 and
contributed to by 23 men posting regularly to this newsgroup,
rec.music.makers.percussion, who were either provoked by Robert Schuh or
a witness to it in this, one of his more active periods of provocation.
Many emails were traded during this particular episode and it was
determined that a majority of the regular RMMP posters at that time
wished Rob Schuh's actions to be documented. This is a biased report
because we all are disgusted with Robert Schuh's behavior on RMMP. This
particular episode ended in a threat of physical harm:

If you're looking for proof of the speculation about Robert Schuh's
anonymous postings, this isn't it, though links to his suspected
anonymous posts are notated. In all fairness, those posts may or may not
have been written by or contain quotes of posts written by either Robert
Schuh or one of his "trolls". We are just compiling our findings and we
think the truth will be obvious. Some emails from regulars are quoted
anonymously with permission. Their authenticity as well as that of any
other undocumented evidence will rest on the credibility of the authors
of this document.

We can imagine what Robert Schuh's reaction to this will be; lots of his
patented cliches about websites devoted to him, etc. He will probably
scream for his lawyer and threaten one of his fantasy lawsuits. We are
not interested in his reaction to it. We are interested in getting away
from a pest. We think that this is pretty damning evidence as to his
intentions here, which is to cause trouble and garner attention, like a
child does at the expense of an adult's exasperation. There are many
working professional drummers and many sincere amateur drummers
contributing regularly to RMMP who can see that Robert Schuh's noisy
presence here must be the manifestation of other problems: "After
reading the article about Rob's 'tragic' life, it's clear that all his
problems stem from some really messed up self-image and that his ego has
led to his destruction and he keeps trying to survive via ego. I think
he's harrassing **** and **** and ***** because he's jealous that you
guys are working steady and he's living the "bitter life of the artist."
Our amateur psychiatry will do no good, but it is interesting that
everyone from the 15 year old beginner to the 60 year old veteran has
remarked about the warped, dysfunctional, character disorder behind
Robert Schuh's frothing at the mouth.

This will be an ongoing documentation and investigation. We invite
anyone to add documented facts, undocumented theories, links,
speculation, testimony and/or opinion to this report and/or include your
name to it as a supporter of its' objective, which is to ask Rob Schuh
to either admit to and cease the years of tiresome troublemaking
documented here or refrain from posting at RMMP altogether; no half
measures. We doubt very seriously that either will happen, since Robert
Schuh considers the internet his audience, so this expose is offered to
show that Robert Schuh's lack of credibility in RMMP is his own doing.
Many regulars here have "killfiled" him, which means blocked his posts
from showing up in their newsreaders and email, because they don't want
to read his antagonistic posts. Of course, it is almost impossible not
to read his posts as quotes incidentally in other people's replies, but
we still suggest that if you don't want to be bothered by his bitterness
and baiting, don't read him and don't reply to him.

The purpose of this file is not to provoke Robert Schuh, which would be
trolling on our part, but to warn the unaware of his history while
allowing us to stay out of range of his biteless bark by not responding
to any particular current posts of his. Another purpose is to cut down
on the amount of time that the group has to babysit Robert Schuh and
explain him to newcomers by documenting here his posting history, his
most repetitive maneuvers and describing his modus operandi and
suspicious activity. This will stand like a billboard in the town square
for Robert Schuh to see every time he considers harassing anyone or
telling lies about anyone in RMMP. Please post a link to it in
dejanews.com but do not alter it without permission of the authors.
Please don't post it again in its entirety at RMMP. Direct any content
questions in a post to RMMP with the subject; Schuh File Authors.

This whole matter of having to put up with Robert Schuh's juvenile,
dishonest and disruptive behavior is inconsequential to the proceedings
of the newsgroup RMMP, which has grown and organized into a tight knit
group of kindred souls, many of who have become face to face friends and
colleagues in the real world, despite Robert Schuh's antics and position
that what happens in RMMP "doesn't matter on the bandstand" and doesn't
have consequences in the real world. Most of us feel that RMMP has
become an important source of information, opinion, interaction, gigs,
and direct contact between professional and amateur musicians, the drum
manufacturing industry and the music business in general. Robert Schuh
protests that other musicians don't care about RMMP, or "drum shit". The
discussions in RMMP are more about drums and drummers than music. Music
will be talked about incidentally but we are primarily concerned with
what drummers are usually concerned about; drums and other drummers. We
are concerned that some of the more well known drummers, drum builders,
drum manufacturer's reps and endorsers in particular are only lurking or
have dropped out of participating or curtailed their activities in RMMP
as a result of Rob Schuh and others bashing them and their products
indiscriminately. We mean to attract those desireables to the fold by
pointing to the incriminating actions of the undesireables. If you will
let these people know that you don't read or put any credence in
bullies, then they will be more inclined to participate. As the group of
people who use RMMP grows, so does our sense of decorum, and our sense
of responsibility in using our freedom of speech.

If you have been the recipient of one of Robert Schuh's posts designed
to make you mad, congratulations! You have been "trolled" by him and he
is enjoying your emotional response and his control over you, much the
way a child taunts a small animal. Robert Schuh likes the attention he
gets from his annoying newsgroup bullying games and mentions, quite
frequently, his band of "trolls" from other newsgroups like
misc.fitness.weights, alt.sports.weightlifting, etc. that put up
websites about his life. To quote him, "Man, I have trolls who set up
entire web pages full of libelous shit about me and set up anon, AOL and
WebTv accounts using my name or some version of it all the time. I even
had one troll e mailing some guy pretending to be me and attempting to
use some of my trade marked words etc. If I was trying to be anon, I
sure as shit would not tell someone to "Butch up Choad!" :-)"
Trade marked words? :-)

Robert Schuh seems to have an aversion to authority, parents, growing
up, and just general conformity to the mores of society. We don't need
to explain that he speaks and acts immaturely on RMMP. This is what he
has to say about it:

"May I also point out that you have long ago left any hope of youth and
open mindedness. Do you know when you became old and started thinking
like your parents? Man, I am almost 40 and if I EVER start to think like

this, I want someone to kill me!"

Robert Schuh displays this arrested development often. Robert Schuh has
a hard time realizing that he is nearly 40 years old and that he IS the
establishment, part of the generation in charge of society and making it
work by contributing to it. HE has some serious denial problems. This is
all evident by his refusal to accept responsibility for his dishonest
actions on the internet.

Please realize that most of us here never had much trouble with "trolls"
before we met Robert Schuh. His words, "I have FAR more trolls than
you", is very illuminating.

He signs every post "the most trolled man on the internet" which aptly
states his priorities. What he didn't put in his signature is that all
of his trolls became such only after they were first bullied by him.
This report is designed to not give him that direct emotional attention,
but rather to inform you of what we know and warn you of what you may be
getting into if you respond to him. He tends to turn the tables on those
who take issue with him and call them trolls. This is a classic trolling
tactic. If there are Rob Schuh trolls, then they are in RMMP because of
Robert Schuh. There can be no other reason. He commits, attracts and
desires disruptive behavior that is not condusive to a good newgroup

There are a large number of us here who are convinced from the
circumstancial evidence that Robert Schuh posts here in RMMP and
elsewhere as other people, posting through anonymous remailing services
which protect his true identity. Anon...@cotse.com is a favorite of
his. Jeff...@cotse.com and ASSkissin'bi...@cotse.com. are others. Those
posts can be particularly nasty and personal, with nothing being sacred,
including spouses, children, sexual acts, incest, bestiality, dead
friends, and threats of physical harm, like this one:

Robert Schuh claims that some of these are written by HIS "trolls" who
masquerade as him. We wish they would stop either way. It is impossible,
for the time being, to prove which posts are written by Robert Schuh or
his anonymous personalities or his trolls. But, like the little boy who
cried wolf one too many times, no one is running to his defense. We are
reasonably sure that out of the anonymous posts on RMMP, he is
responsible for the majority of them. Most of us are interested in
talking drums, not making anonymous posts about people's babies. The
odds are against his protests and he usually doesn't make much of a
defense and lashes out at others when accused.

"I had nothing to do with any of is crap. This entire thing is pathetic.
Bill needs to get help with his Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. George
Lawrence is just posting libelous crap."

He usually waits for things to die down, then starts all over again. He
uses the confusion of this type of anonymous activity to his advantage.
The similarity of writing styles and the dates are uncanny. The math of
the coincidences in similar posts is undeniable. When someone is
attacked by Robert Schuh, the target is usually also attacked by one or
more "anonymous" trolls using many of the same insults, words, and
phrases. When Robert Schuh quiets down, the anonymous posts die down.
When confronted about these anonymous posts, Robert Schuh usually
doesn't put up much of a defense, but there is usually at least one
"friend" of Robert Schuh who appears from nowhere and posts about what a
great guy Robert Schuh is. He has admitted to posting anonymously in
other newsgroups (this one is particularly offensive about his disgust
for fat people though he used to be overweight himself):
