Has anyone used the above kit at all, the price seems to be great
(£240 from ebay) but the only 2 reviews I can find are a 5/5 and a
1/5! I also found a review by a website who sell the kit who gave it
9/10 but i'm a bit dubious about that one.
Looking for a kit for my girlfriend to practice on (beginner) and for
me to knock out some beats for my demos (mainly i play guitar). Would
anyone recommend this kit or a similar priced electronic kit? We have
no space for an acoustic kit.
Thanks in advance

I have an almost-identical kit - I bought it secondhand for one of my
sons. This is the one I have :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38097&item=7316935961&rd=1
Mine is identical to the one pictured - 2 "pedals", extra pad. I got it
for £50. The one you're looking at is probably the same thing with a
different badge.
It's a toy. It needs a PC to function, unless one buys the MIDI box.
The pads are hard, and feel nothing like real drums or good electronic
kits. The rack is fine for a kid to play on, but anything more than a
civilised tap and the pads slip. The pedals feel nothing like real
pedals. There's an appreciable delay between hitting the pad and the
sound coming out of the speakers. The sounds are ok, there are quite a
selection of kits and effects.
Having said all that, my son (10) loves it. He near busted a gut
laughing at the special effects sounds, and all his friends are really
impressed with it.
But all it is is a toy. I wouldn't in my wildest dreams consider
taking it out on a gig.
