Just saw Lou Rawls tonight, What a great voice this guy has! His drummer was a
guy named Kenny Elliot.Stopped and said hello to him after the show, very cool
cat! He was very tight! Had some great moves and beats and had great time and
feel. I would say Lou Rawls gig would be a tough gig to do due to time changes,
moods, and lots of quick fills and chokes at low volume levels. later in the
show he got to do a drum solo, and did some very nice stuff, including the
Buddy Rich thing of doing a roll down onto the rims. Lots of technique were on
display. A master touch on all the different beats. If Lou Rawls come to town
go see him. He can sing today as smootly as he could way back when. Good Music,
Musicianship, and some solid musicians make it a great show.

Do you know if Kenny Elliot is from Chicago?  I remember a drummer years back by that name who was just phenomenal.

Well, as Lou Rawls is a Chicago man-I assume this is the same drummer--he was
kinda old, but very smooth and tasty!
