Ayotte uses Keller as well, except for their snare drum shells. I think
they start with Keller, and add numerous plies of their own to create very
thick shells (up to 50 plies, that's dense). They used to make their own
shells, but found it much more reasonable to purchase the shells from a
larger specialized manufacturer. Cheers.

I very much doubt that the Keller shells Ayotte buys are any different
then the ones that i purchase. They are just trying to distance
themselves by saying "We get special treatment". Whatever...
