No, they really don't -- they use Keller. I'm STILL bitter about DW's
forcing Keller to impose minimum purchases for individuals to try and force
people into buying their drums. I've got news for you -- most companies'
top of the line drums are Keller shells, and most (if not all of them) are
MUCH cheaper and sound just as good as any DW kit out there. ALWAYS
REMEMBER, aggressive sales practices and clever marketing do not make a
better sounding drum!

I'm not sure...they're one of the few drum companies that are quite
secretive about their manufacturing process. Maybe someone else out there
knows?...

Ayotte uses Keller as well, except for their snare drum shells. I think
they start with Keller, and add numerous plies of their own to create very
thick shells (up to 50 plies, that's dense). They used to make their own
shells, but found it much more reasonable to purchase the shells from a
larger specialized manufacturer. Cheers.

Ayotte uses keller shells specificaly made for them .They (Ayotte)do manipulate
thier own gluerings & snare shells. They take Keller 10 ply shells &scarf in
however many plys the customer wants for instance 10 +5=15 or3x10=30.All
American drum companies use Keller exept Ludwig who still make their
own,Gretsch uses Jasper as does Fibes( all be them proprietery for each)

I very much doubt that the Keller shells Ayotte buys are any different
then the ones that i purchase. They are just trying to distance
themselves by saying "We get special treatment". Whatever...

Do I have to get an official letter from keller proving you wrong?

the idea that keller makes special shells for ONLY some companies is stupid.
call keller they will tell you themselves. they wont tell you who buys what,
but they will tell you that they make a finite number stlyes, available to
everbody.
