Why don't we just shun Rob.
That is the best defense. This guy has nothing to offer except his
dopey opinions on people overcharging on ebay. He sucks and he brings
the whole group DOWN... He thrives on it.
IGNORE HIM and he'll go away.
He thinks his shit doesn't stink but it does. BIG TIME. Who ever buys
into into his crap is naive. Just because he had muscles at one time,
doesn't make him a hero. Any self-absorbed person can lift weights and
be a body-builder.
I think a lot of younger guys are impressed with his physique and
feel like they are finally friends with a bully. This guy is obviously
begging for attention. I guess he misses the attention on stage and
this is the next best thing. DON'T GIVE IN !!
This can be a great place to share drumming ideas and opinions and it
should be. I'm ashamed to let my 9 year old aspiring drummer son this
group because of morons like Rob who post profantiy and mostly
negative comments.
Drummers getting together should be a fun experience.
Lets not allow this bitter, angry, wannbe to ruin this whole group.

The only time he posts something positive is when it involves him and
his dopey little projects and plugging friends like Sean from
drumminmen.com.
DON'T GIVE THIS GUY ANY FEEDBACK WHATSOEVER AND HE'LL GO AWAY

Anyone agree?

He's made so many enemies, his track record speaks for itself.

How long have you been here? Like him or not, Rob's not going anywhere. If
you don't like what he has to say, use your killfile. It's that simple.
You're just one in a long line of people who make these posts in hopes of
"saving RMMP". Ain't gonna happen. As a matter of fact, you'll probably just
attract flames from OTHER RMMPers for this type of post (where ARE you
jmt??). I'm a nice guy, so I'll go easy on ya. :-)

It IS a great place to share drumming ideas and opinions. There is a signal
to noise ratio, however. We consider RMMP to be a sort of "tavern" at which
drummers can sit around and talk shop. If you let your son hang out in a bar
and listen to a conversation between a circle of drummers, he'd hear much of
the same and probably worse. Maybe this isn't the place for him.

I'm not DDSD. I'm a level-headed, father of two, data network
engineer, living in NY, who 's been drumming since I'm 3 yrs old. I
can remember trying to copy Ringo on the Ed Sullivan Show.
I'm now 42. I've played with opening acts for some big names, done
some recording, 100s of clubs and weddings over the years and know how
to play EVERY style of music. I also teach and give my students a lot
of inspiration even though I never "made it". I still enjoy the art of
drumming and try to share my positive outlook
I just hate so much commotion and vulgarity from one guy who feels
like he CONTROLS this group.
Let's get back to enjoying good drumming conversation.

I remeber his silly comments about Dave Weckl like "this choad
couldn't swing from a rope". He's act is old. Lets get on the right
track and enjoy good , informative, drumming conversation.

What a goofy post. Everything you are asking the group to do, you just did.If
you don not want to participate in someones postins and be exposed to it, set up
a kill file. This is why filters exist.
In regards to the vulgarity, one thing I do notice from the complaintants.Quite
often, they object to the obscenities and copy the whole message....kind of self
defeating, isn't it?
If rob gets to bothering me...he will get filtered. Frankly, i think he shares
alot of knowledge about jazz, about drum dealers, parts, manufacturers, etc...I
have never understood the weight of using your real name or what your ISP of
choice is....but so what. If he gets in the same category as Tom or Rance, into
the bucket he goes.....I suggest you try filters....

I'll never understand why people think it's worth their time to say
things like "don't use profane language on Usenet". Rob isn't saying

I second that. After one of my first posts Rob was my first reply, and he
hurled abuse at me. I tried reasoning with him, and he obviously accepted
what I said, because I have seen him repeatedly abuse people who have tried
to defend themselves against him, only I didn't attack him with my response,
I backed down and tried to explain thigns without getting abusive. The fact
is, Rob doesn't suffer fools gladly, or indeed most people gladly, and yes
sometimes he can seem out of order, but at others he provides the group with
some genuinely useful drumming information and technical insight, and at
times like that I respect him, just learn to live with him, after a while,
once he stops abusing you it actually gets quite entertaining to watch his
fights with other people ;-)

I had the same experience. Rob has been a total asshole to just about
everyone in here and has more than once insulted me roundly for little
or no reason. But I can't imagine RMMP without him. He's insightful,

I agree although you may not have much luck convincing the majority.
Just killfile him then your son can enjoy this group. Hopefully
nobody will quote any of Rob's nasty posts although I don't think it
is going to happen. I learned along time ago this is an R rated
group. You can thank Schuh for that. Would be really cool if it was
a G rated group though but, that is not going to happen. Rob has ZERO

statement refuting one of my posts. Now I'm sure that had I
counter-responded with something like "Hey, you gay-bashing homo jazz geek!
Get your bitch ass back in the kitchen and make me some pie!" he would have
probably fired both barrels.

Look, man,

Before you come in here and start beating on your chest, why don't you chill
out and lurk a little bit more and check out the vibe?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Face facts. Rob was here long before all of these, excepting maybe JE. He
can speak for himself, when he untwists himself from his daily regimen.

You're not the only one, Sean - in fact, far from it. I haven't had any
personal difficulties with Rob either. Nor has Jay Epstein, for example.
In fact, although we've never met in person (yet) we three correspond pretty
regularly.
Rob has a wide breadth of knowledge in drums and drumming, he's an
accomplished drummer himself, and the fact that he's semi-nuts happens to
appeal to me - I look at it as part of his artistic eccentricity. A bit of
a bull in a china shop there, but no worse than Norman Mailer or Ernest
Hemingway. Many of my friends aren't playing with a full deck - I prefer it
that way, because it sets them apart from the banal masses.

Look, I don't agree with LOTS of what Rob says - sometimes I find what he
spews forth even SHOCKING; and I would personally use a different style to
phrase my opinions than Rob chooses to; but I consider him to be a friend,
same as a lot of other shriners here who I haven't yet met (and some who I
HAVE).
This is like FAMILY, man.
You either accept our idiosyncrasies and quirky ways, or you get off the

jnet,

1.) It's a newsgroup, not a study group. Things will get rowdy sometimes.

2.) No one forces you to be here, there are plenty of moderated drum forums
that you are welcome to join.

3.) You do not have to read Rob's posts. Learn how to use filters or just
scroll over his messages. He uses his name so it's pretty easy to avoid him
if he offends you.

4.) No one "let's him get away" with anything. There is nothing "we" can
do. He's free to post whatever he wants, just like you and I. Why is your
first reaction an attempt to censor or banish Rob?

5.) I find some of Rob's messages kind of stupid too, but I also like a lot
of his messages. If he goes off on a tangent, I just move on, it doesn't
occur to me that I have to change Rob's behavior just because he has a potty
mouth.

6.) Chill dude, it's just a fuckin' computer..

I've had a change of heart and agree with whatshisface. Rob Schuh must be
dealt with.

Open letter to Rob.

Please go away. You are a bad person with a ca ca mouth and you make people
sad with your mean words. Go away to some place where words like "fuck" and
"shit" and "whore" and "buttfucker" and "cuntlicker" and "poop" and "Buddy
Rich" are acceptable. That place must be in hell because regular people
"just like me" would certainly not put up with such profanity.

But I am not mad at you and I do not hate you. You must of had a terrible
childhood in order to be so cynical and mean spirited. Maybe you were
fondled by a homosexual priest while you practiced your drums to gospel
music. Maybe your own father beat you with a lead pipe when you showed any
weakness and now you must put on a macho front for all.

You do not have to pretend to be tough here at RMMP. We can and will accept
sensitive, caring Birkenstocks wearing motherfuckers (oops, sorry) who are
not afraid to show a tender side and even cry when something truly bad
happens, like the release of a new Rush CD.

So repent, Mr. Schuh. Look in the mirror and say "I'm special and unique
and if I ever see Lardo again I will put aside our petty feud and give him a
big bear hug, or as much of a hug as I can muster with my regular sized arms
and his gargantuan food bucket."

You are loved Mr. Schuh, now go fuck with someone.

rob and i had our little twists when i arrived here in '94, but we've become
friendly since then. he speaks his mind. so what? is it that threatening to
you? you'd hate being around me too, then. i've traded a substantial amount of
e-mails with him, and he can be a very nice guy. in fact, i plan on having him
build me a kit sometime in the future, once my "super-secret project kit" is

I'm waiting to see the picture of the coon pelt hanging from his kick drum.

2 words , Lighten up. ;o)
Some people take this place way to seriuos such as the poster for example.

Then people like get all all bent when some says they are a good drummer.

Nothing personal Pete. Just my worthless point of view.

How's it going anyway?

OK I guess. So are you saying this situation is the same as yours was? I
wasn't invloved with your thing, so I am unfamiliar with all the nuances.
Can you explain?

Blue- You have made these type of posts before...they really make you look
foolish. What is your issue with Craig pursuing movies? Be it as a director,
an actor, a writer...whatever. Why do you take issue with someone who has
the balls to go out and pay there dues and pursue there passion? More power
to him. I was too chicken shit to do that. I went and got a career gig in
corporate America instead of pursuing my passion....drums. Why not give me
shit for that? Thats much more lame than pursuing your dream. It sounds
like he has been making some ground with it...good for him.
Question two...Why do you care whom sleeps with whom? Why does that matter
to you?
You really present yourself as being foolish when you post comments like
this....on an ongoing basis.

How does a Christian act Craig? Being a Christian is not an act Mr.
Hollywood it is a way of life that is very difficult to live by but,
well worth the effort. Also, aren't you being a little judgemental
yourself?

Good luck to you

Man...you win this month's "Nastiest, Grudge Holdingest, Most Judgmental
Christian" award. You know. "The Rancy."<

Mazin "Mr. Hollywood Wannabe's" and Rob’s (for that matter) definition of
"Christian" would be - A person who allows the rabid, depraved, dogs of a pack
to regurgitate all over them and never utters one single word in reprisal.
These sick dogs are allowed to attack with all the insults, vulgarity,
perverted sexual innuendos they can dredge up, with absolutely zero
accountability for their behavior.
These sick dogs are allowed to dish out heaping portions of abuse, and never,
ever, are the "Christians" allowed to say one word in reprisal.

Very true Blue. Also, to call them dogs does not do a dog justice.
Try using the term rats instead.:-)

Your kids don't need protection, they need to learn maturity so they too can
filter out the profane and make up their own minds. Censoring forums for
them ain't the way to go, you're doing more damage than good by "protecting"
them. Your job as a parent is to raise your children to be responsible
adults, not keep them in a gilded cage and treat them as mindless little
objects.

BTW, yes, I am a father.

Amen to that. Rob may be a complete nutcase, but there's no doubt that he
has something to contribute to the drumming world. I'm personally looking
forward to meeting him one day just to talk shop.

We're all mad, anyway, we're drummers, for GID's sake!
