Are they still around? If they are, I haven't been able to locate them.
Thanks,

I endorsed Corders back in 84/85, and have only slightly more info:
Jim Corder had taken over the old Fibes machinery and using that
hardware started making wood drums, maybe around 1980? The shells were
the same that Gretsch was using then, so either Keller or Jasper. Nice
drums - I still have my maple kit from the deal.
Eventually, Corder sold everything and (my memory is slightly fuzzy
about the chronology) Sammy Darwin put out the same drums under the
name Darwin, then they became the All-American Drum Company (maybe
just American Drums?), and finally, Tommy Robertson reintroduced Fibes
drums again with some mentoring from the original Fibes guy (whose
name I forget but who I met a few NAMM shows back!)
Sorry for any inaccuracies, but the Fibes story is one of the odder
ones in the drum biz, and the drums being made now are very nice
indeed!

I think American Drum Company is correct.

...I spent many hours hanging-out around the place in my
school days. Even got them to stamp out a 12 lug 12" set of
snare hoops for me! ;-)
They were sold several years ago, seems like it was moved to Texas....
I have a friend that purchased some HUGE shells from them...
Something like head size + 50% of head size = depth.
He never completed the set, but he still has the shells....been sitting
for 12 years or so....

Right, thanks! When he was at NAMM, he pretty much sat in the Fibes
booth, noodling quietly (to his credit), sounding great and always
attracting a crowd.
