I'm looking to buy a Hohner RTS Revelation guitar that I've asked around about
in here before, but no one seems to know anything about it. It's obviously not
a popular or known brand. But, I've been able to find out what kind of
pickups it has and they're Entwistle-White. The name Entwistel might imply the
Entwistle of TheWho fame, but I'm just guessing. Anyone have any information
about this guitar in general and the pickups in particular?

Let's see, hmm (leafing through old English guitar mag)....

The Revelation was designed around 91/92 in an effort to raise Hohners
reputation from a "copy-maker" to some thing a bit more high tech, by a UK
design team that included Alan Entwhistle and tremolo guru Trev Wilkinson,
(now with Eggle Guitars, designing their FretKing by Eggle line).
The aim was to produce a guitar able to sound good in everything from heavy
metal to country, which sounds a bit far out if you ask me.
The guitars were produced in Czechoslovakia, in a factory rumoured to be the
origin of many of Kramers "made in the USA" guitars!! The pickups were
designed by Alan Entwhistle, and built by English pickup maker David White.
(There you got the pickup answer, no Who guys included)

Hope this helped you a bit on the way.

I'm saying I'm collecting English guitar mags, not Hohner guitars.
As for the other guy...

Ivar also collects The Pauls, which are like Les Pauls, only not so French.
He loves 'em, pays top dollar.

Glad I could help

Thanks you guys. You are a real scream. Thanks for the information though.
Grin..no actually it's a very nice guitar but I'd never heard of it before.
Other than the bass Paul McCartny played I didn't know Hohner made guitars of
any note in quite a long time. This one is very, very nice and I'm just a
curious guy where guitars are concerned.

If it's cheap enough..it's a very nice guitar.

That was a Hofner. German made, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, we goof too much sometimes. Apologies.
McCartney played a HOFNER, though, not a Hohner.

I've played some good Hohners.

The only famous Hohner guitarist I can think of is Prince.
The Tele he has used most of his carerre ids a Hohner.
(The one with a dark wood-stripe running down the body.)

Hohner calls it "The Prinz" these days.
Or maybe TGFKAP (The Guitar Formerly Known As Prinz)

Thanks Ivar..interesting to say the least. I just get bored with the standard
fare once in a while and like to look at new stuff to see what it does.
