Let's see, hmm (leafing through old English guitar mag)....
The Revelation was designed around 91/92 in an effort to raise Hohners
reputation from a "copy-maker" to some thing a bit more high tech, by a UK
design team that included Alan Entwhistle and tremolo guru Trev Wilkinson,
(now with Eggle Guitars, designing their FretKing by Eggle line).
The aim was to produce a guitar able to sound good in everything from heavy
metal to country, which sounds a bit far out if you ask me.
The guitars were produced in Czechoslovakia, in a factory rumoured to be the
origin of many of Kramers "made in the USA" guitars!! The pickups were
designed by Alan Entwhistle, and built by English pickup maker David White.
(There you got the pickup answer, no Who guys included)
Hope this helped you a bit on the way.

Are you saying you collect these?

The opinions above are mine and mine alone.

I'm saying I'm collecting English guitar mags, not Hohner guitars.
As for the other guy...

Cool. I have a really beat up junky Hohner, I'll drop it in the mail to you.
Ivar also collects The Pauls, which are like Les Pauls, only not so French.
He loves 'em, pays top dollar.
Glad I could help

That was a Hofner. German made, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, we goof too much sometimes. Apologies.
McCartney played a HOFNER, though, not a Hohner.
I've played some good Hohners.

The only famous Hohner guitarist I can think of is Prince.
The Tele he has used most of his carerre ids a Hohner.
(The one with a dark wood-stripe running down the body.)
Hohner calls it "The Prinz" these days.
Or maybe TGFKAP (The Guitar Formerly Known As Prinz)
