There has been some rumblings lately about taking a "Stevie" away
from someone who is somehow not worthy.

First, the concept is boggling. Not worthy to be a STEVIE?

Jeez, that's like saying we have revoked your liscence to take a shit.

FURTHERMORE- it's a well knownf factroid that you can't get rid of your
own Stevie. You can't resign. A Stevie, like a tattoo or herpes (and unlike
true love) is for life. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Actually taking someone's Stevie away from them would lead other people
to try and secede.

Then we would have to track them down and kill them.

I'd reaally rather not have to do that. :)

Yup. Pretty much everybody who posts here and TRIES to be nice to SOMEONE
at SOMETIME gets one. There are plenty of loathsome Stevies.

(actually, tattoos can be removed nowadays, so that one is right out...)

Yeah, the herpes thing, that's it....
Someone once called it a "lepers bell", which I thought was a wonderful
descriptor, so nice that I offered it up as a potential band name...

Modern science has shown that the best one can do, upon being damned with
an unwanted Stevie, is to not use the moniker when posting...WE all know,
but the rest of society can be kept in the dark.

"Dan Stanley" <stan...@tiac.net>, far, far away from here, appears to have
written:

Gotta laugh. I read this, and though "Yeah, *I* remember that too. Wish I'd
said it. Hmm, wonder who did?" So I went off and consulted my hard drive,
and it turns out that *I* wrote it!! Maybe I post here too much if I can't
even remember good stuff like that :-)
