This is an idea whose time has come. Jangle out the
wazoo.
Is this a standard part of the reissue line or a Frankenstein of
some sort?
Anybody seen one in real life?

I haven't seen one as a re-issue, but around here there's a band called Blue
Sparks from Hell, and the guitar player has an old one; he's had it for years,
so I guess it was once a standard product.

You know the Sparks? That front man (C. T. Tucker) is a trip. First guy I
ever saw do a set swinging upside down from the rafters. I've played many,
many, gigs with their drummer (that is if it's still Terry Wetmore).

When I was over in Nashville earlier this year, I got to meet (and do a
gig with) that guitar player - Kenny Vaughan is his name.
He is into buying guitar parts and making them up into guitars so it
could be a Frankenstein.
Did you get a good look at the name on the headstock? If you didn't
actually see the Danelectro logo, my guess would be that it was actually
a Jerry Jones guitar (he is also based in Nashville). Jones make
replicas of the whole Danno range including custom orders.
Unfortunately, they're not cheap though.
