My last GC purchase was online ... went perfectly. AND as an extra plus,
I'm the first guy to handle the product.

Been disappointed each time. Didn't go today.

If you're making a major purchase, you can get the same deal at GC any time.
You just have to haggle with the sales person. Guitars are easy. Mark-up on
guitars is 100%, so, if a guitar lists for $2000, the store has $1000 into
it. This isn't quite true as GC gets a volume discount as well. The bottom
line is for you to assume they have $1000 into it, offer them $1100 (their
tag may say it's $1500), and you'll probably get the deal.
Their holiday sales are better for picking up quantities of smaller
essentials such as cables, stands, strings, etc. In that case, get there
early and load up.
Last time I went into the local GC on a "Green Tag Sale" day, there were
no green tags on anything.

The last time I went for a special "Green Tag Sale", I pulled one of the green tags out and looked
at the orange tag. They both said the same thing.

Man my Guitar Center has been going downhill steadily as of late. The sales
suck, the equipment is broken and the store is a mess. I think Guitar Center
may be feeling the economic pinch.
