Well known by who? Koreans?
IIRC their early attempts at Squier's weren't that flash. Certainly not
up to Samick's efforts.
However the Pro Tones have certainly been enjoying a good reputation as
MIA beaters.
Vester sold a lot of guitars here in Aussie, low range stuff was not as
good as their Squiers. Played a few back in the day. OK, but not the
best of MIK.

Yeah, Vester wasn't really a quality outfit until Fender got ahold of them and
(using strict quality control guidelines), in short time Sunghan was making Pro
Tones of such quality it got them sued by Fender. Can't show up the boss with
better products, you know!
They actually got sued?

Where do you people come up with this stuff? If you have their
guitars, just enjoy them, you don't have to convince everyone they are
so "good" because of some "lawsuit". It's just weird, the crap people
come up with.

I didn't realise there was a Lawsuit in 97. I actually find that hard to
believe as they were under Fenders control anyway. However, this may help;

The Pro tones are as good as any MIJ or MIA by all accounts.

It's a good website, those guys obviously lover their guitars. I see
no mention of a "lawsuit". I see quotes from magazines, bits of Smith
interview that can be found in lots of places, but no mention of an
actual lawsuit. I see mention of the original stuff about scripts and
logos and such.

Dudes. The implication above, with the link, would be that these
guitars are so good that somebody "sued" somebody. Nobody, not ever,
not anyone, ever got "sued" because they made "good" guitars. Period.
Guitar makers are sued because their guitars, without permissions,
look too much like other peoples guitars. That is the only reason.
And you and I can very easily prove that in one weeked. Rock on with
it, enjoy your guitars for what they are, not for what you can
convince others that they are.

Like I said, I'd doubt Fender would sue over that. That might tell
Vester to cheapen them up a bit or they'll pull their contract. But sue?
I'd doubt it.

I've always maintained there are 2 types of guitar, good ones and bad
ones. I only keep good ones, problem is there's heaps of good ones ;-)
Mark
Its really not that hard to equip a guitar with a good neck. Theres
times when you might think it was though. The neck ,frets ,nut, bridge
and tuners make the guitar. Pickups, wood used, body shape, pots . Big
deal
English grammer, word spacing, punctuation - Big deal.

Pro Tones were made by Cort. Most Vester Squiers are of inferior
quality and I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Some of their
earlier Strat copies were pretty good.
