Hi,

In a recent email chat with Joe Ciaudelli of Sennheiser, he told me that
Sennheiser has just started some sort of Garage Band promotion. I aksed Joe
if I could relay the details to interested folks here and he said sure,
although thy're planning to do some print ads and some radio. (There's
another story there, but many will consider it entirely too much
information.) So...

-It's the Evolution Band Contest
-The winning band will be sent to Germany next year to play at Expo 2000 --
The World's Fair, plus $7,500 in Sennheiser mics.
-100 other bands will receive an Evolution mic.
-The deadline is 10/31/99

The address is:
Evolution Band Contest
1 Enterprise Dr.
Old Lyme, CT
06371

They supposedly have something at:
http://www.evolutionmics.com

I ain't been there, so I haven't seen it.

There's also a (NOT toll free) phone number: 860.434.9190, ext. 111. It's at
the office so you can probably reach someone during East Coast office hours.

What am I forgetting: uh..oh submissions can be audio or video. The group
has to be able to perform live. That's part of the deal.

That's all I remember.

Regards,

Ty Ford

Speaking of Sennheiser/Evolution..has anybody used the kick mike? The
Sennnheiser folks came to my studio a couple of years ago and I liked the
kick mic..unfortunately, they did not have one to leave for me to audition.
I remember really liking it..but being a busy slug, I never got around to
tracking one down. Anybody been using one?
