I had a dream that night! What if there was a serial number database for
our favourite guitars: pre-cbs strat and teles?
Yesterday it was impossible but today thanx to Internet we could
localize all these guitars and never buy a fake one...
I would like your opinions about it before we start this work.

Fender's web site has a serial number database for dating guitars. If
you are intending to list other info like model, pickups, color, etc.
then I would participate. Sounds like a cool idea if enough people
register their guitars. There's no guarantee of anyone submitting
truthfull data though. Maybe offering to tie in a scanned photo would be
nice. I hope you have a large server!

Noted Fender collector, James Werner, has been collecting Fender guitar
serial numbers for the past 20 years. His database currently has over
